Hundsun Technologies supplies the trading, asset-management, operations and wealth systems that Chinese brokerages and fund managers run their businesses on, and the report's rating is Hold. The trouble is direction. Revenue peaked at RMB 7.28bn in 2023, fell 9.6% in 2024 and 12.1% in 2025, and the 2026 first-half pre-announcement points to a further 11.6% decline. Three straight declining periods make this a multi-year contraction, not a timing accident.

Headline profit held up anyway, and that divergence is where the report concentrates. 2025 attributable profit rose 18.0% while revenue fell 12.1%, supported by RMB 254m of equity-accounted income from associates against RMB 50m a year earlier, most of it traceable to Hundsun's 24.10% holding in Ant Fund. Q1 2026 repeated the pattern: associates contributed RMB 106.3m, and once investment and fair-value gains are stripped out, the quarter's operating-profit proxy sits slightly below zero. Those earnings are economically real, but they reflect Ant Fund's results rather than institutions buying more Hundsun software.

The moat is strongest where failure is expensive. Migrating a core transaction or investment-accounting system is a multi-year technology and compliance project, which is why the installed base survived a major regulatory scandal. It thins out elsewhere: core wealth, asset-management and institutional lines carried 73% to 78% gross margins in 2025 against 40.6% in enterprise finance, insurance core and infrastructure, and management is deliberately pruning the weaker work. Orders still grew double digits in the first half and Q1 contract liabilities rose 10.19%, so demand has not collapsed. Orders that fail to convert after several quarters, the report warns, signal a delivery or mix problem rather than timing.

Valuation is where the stance hardens. At CNY 22.12 the headline P/E is near 34 times and about 47 times estimated owner earnings, higher still on the software franchise alone once associate income comes out. Sum-of-the-parts puts conservative intrinsic value near CNY 18 and the base case near CNY 24, so the price already sits above the conservative estimate and the margin-of-safety verdict is none. The report would require CNY 13.0 to 14.4 for new money and treats CNY 20.4 to 27.6 as an acceptable hold band.

The main risks are prolonged revenue contraction, rated high probability; gradual moat erosion as large brokers build modules internally; and a de-rating toward mature-IT multiples without any business crisis, with the pre-mortem scripts implying 45% to 55% downside. Existing holders own real recovery optionality; a buyer at CNY 22.12 receives little conservative-case margin of safety.

The above is a summary of the report's views and does not constitute investment advice. Markets carry risk; invest with caution.

Вступление

Hundsun Technologies supplies the core trading, investment-management, operations and wealth systems that Chinese securities firms and fund managers depend on, a franchise built on switching costs rather than on any disclosed recurring-subscription economics. Revenue has now fallen for a third consecutive period, down 9.6% in 2024, 12.1% in 2025 and about 11.6% in 2026 H1 to CNY2.144bn, while headline profit held up mainly because equity-accounted associates supplied CNY254m of income in 2025 and CNY106.3m in Q1 2026 alone, with the 24.10%-owned Ant Fund the likely dominant contributor. Rating Hold: at CNY22.12 the shares sit inside the CNY20.4-27.6 acceptable-hold band but trade near 47 times estimated owner earnings and above the CNY18 conservative value, leaving no margin of safety.

Research summary and vertical history

Core diagnosis. Hundsun is one of those companies for which a decade-long quality screen and a current earnings screen can produce almost opposite impressions. Historically it built an unusually sticky position inside China's institutional capital-market infrastructure: securities firms, fund managers and other financial institutions run parts of their trading, investment-management, operations, wealth-management and risk systems on Hundsun software. The economic attraction is obvious. Replacing a core trading or asset-management system is expensive and risky, and it disrupts operations. Once a vendor is embedded, maintenance, upgrades and follow-on modules can last through many budget cycles. Historical disclosures cited by the company and contemporary reports put Hundsun's fund and securities-system shares at very high levels, although the percentages differ by product definition and vintage: a company-affiliated Japanese page cites 46% for securities trading systems and 92% for investment-fund management systems, while reporting based on Hundsun's 2012 annual report cited roughly 80% in securities and 93% in funds. Those figures are valuable historical evidence of the installed base, but they should not be presented as current 2026 market shares. I found no comparably rigorous current segment-share disclosure.

What the market owns today is therefore a strong installed-base franchise whose growth engine has stalled. Revenue rose from roughly RMB 5.50 billion in 2021 to RMB 7.28 billion in 2023, then fell to RMB 6.58 billion in 2024 and RMB 5.78 billion in 2025. The 2026 first-half pre-announcement points to another roughly 11.6% decline, to about RMB 2.14 billion. This is no longer a one-quarter timing issue viewed in isolation. Hundsun has spent more than two years below its 2023 revenue peak.

The superficially reassuring part is profit. Attributable net profit increased 18.0% in 2025 to RMB 1.231 billion even though revenue fell 12.1%; for 2026 H1 the company expects about RMB 262 million, up roughly 0.69% despite revenue falling double digits. Deducted attributable profit is expected to rise about 9.3% to RMB 210 million. That looks like operating leverage until the income statement is taken apart.

My first major finding is that the supplied research brief appears to misdate and mislabel the Wintime transaction. The transaction matching the brief's RMB 123 million figure occurred in October 2025, not in 2026 H1. Contemporary disclosure said a Hundsun concert party sold about 8.11 million Wintime shares for total proceeds of roughly RMB 179 million and expected a pre-tax profit of about RMB 123 million; it was not a major asset restructuring. In other words, RMB 123 million was the expected gain, not the proceeds, and the transaction belongs to 2025 H2. I find no basis for assigning that gain to 2026 H1.

That correction changes the analysis materially. Hundsun itself says the 2026 H1 profit resilience primarily came from greater investment income contributed by associates. The Q1 report provides the accounting anatomy: revenue fell 11.75% to RMB 905 million, while attributable net profit rose 342.9% to RMB 138.8 million and deducted profit rose 625.4% to RMB 72.5 million. Investment income was RMB 133.0 million, including RMB 106.3 million from associates, and fair-value gains were another RMB 51.7 million. Strip investment and fair-value gains out of Q1 operating profit and the remaining consolidated operating-profit proxy is slightly negative, at about RMB 10 million below zero. Q1 is highly seasonal, so that figure should not be annualized, but it shows unmistakably where the quarter's reported profit came from.

The same distinction was already visible in 2025. Hundsun reported RMB 526.2 million of investment income, up from RMB 195.4 million in 2024, of which equity-accounted associates contributed RMB 253.9 million versus RMB 50.1 million a year earlier. Fair-value gains added RMB 26.4 million. Subtracting investment and fair-value income from 2025 operating profit of RMB 1.308 billion leaves roughly RMB 755 million of pre-tax operating-profit proxy. This is not an audited “adjusted net income” measure. It still contains other operating income, impairments and subsidiary effects. But it is much closer to what the software operations themselves generated than RMB 1.231 billion of headline attributable profit.

One associate appears especially important. At year-end 2025 Hundsun held 24.10% of Ant Fund, which reported roughly RMB 1.085 billion of net profit for 2025. A mechanical 24.1% share is about RMB 261 million, very close to Hundsun's RMB 254 million total equity-accounted associate income for the year. This does not prove every yuan of Hundsun's associate earnings came from Ant Fund, but it strongly suggests that Ant Fund was the dominant contributor. Economically those earnings have value. Analytically they are different from profit produced by selling and implementing Hundsun software, and this report keeps the two pools separate.

The 2026 first-half pre-announcement does not disclose the Q2 associate-income line, so an exact operating-only H1 net-profit restatement is impossible before the scheduled interim report. The most defensible provisional bridge starts with RMB 210 million of H1 deducted attributable profit and observes that Q1 alone contained RMB 106.3 million of associate investment income. Because the latter is a consolidated pre-tax equity-income line while the former is an after-tax attributable measure, simply subtracting the two is not an accounting restatement. It nevertheless shows that at least a very large part of H1 earnings capacity sits outside the core software operation. The August 26 interim report should reveal the missing Q2 bridge.

The other candidate explanations matter, but none overturns that conclusion. Hundsun is cutting costs aggressively. In 2025 selling expense fell 21.7%, management expense 19.0% and R&D expense 11.3%; cash paid to employees fell to RMB 3.80 billion from RMB 4.62 billion, and management explicitly attributed several expense declines to lower personnel compensation. R&D remained enormous at RMB 2.18 billion, or 37.7% of revenue. Hundsun capitalized none of that R&D: the entire amount was expensed. The profit defense is therefore not being manufactured by moving development costs onto the balance sheet.

Government grants and fair-value effects are visible but smaller than associate earnings in the recurring-profit discussion. Q1 non-recurring items totaled about RMB 66.3 million, including roughly RMB 10.4 million of government grants and RMB 65.3 million from qualifying financial-asset fair-value/disposal gains before tax and minority adjustments. Yet H1 deducted profit itself rose 9.3%, so the flat headline profit is not primarily a classic one-off-gain story. The deeper quality issue is that equity-accounted associate earnings are included in the recurring earnings base even though they do not measure the health of Hundsun's software demand.

There is another revealing detail in the quarterly arithmetic. Using the H1 pre-announcement and Q1 filing, I calculate Q2 2026 revenue at about RMB 1.239 billion, down roughly 11.5% year on year. Q2 attributable profit appears to have fallen about 46%, and Q2 deducted attributable profit about 25%. Those are derived figures rather than company-reported standalone Q2 numbers, but they show that the extraordinary Q1 profit growth did not persist through Q2.

The underlying demand picture is more nuanced than the revenue decline alone suggests. In Q1 management said contract orders grew year on year and contract liabilities were 10.19% above the prior-year level. The company also said it was actively shrinking businesses with weak profitability, including parts of bank wealth-management systems, data-middle-platform work and bill-related enterprise-finance activity. Other revenue declines arose from project-cycle and acceptance timing. The H1 pre-announcement again said orders grew at a double-digit rate even while revenue recognition declined. That evidence argues against a simple “customers have stopped buying” thesis. It also makes “mere timing” too generous: if order growth cannot become recognized revenue after several quarters, delivery capacity, project complexity, product mix or customer acceptance has become an economic problem in its own right.

Qualitative portrait: company in transition. Hundsun spent its first three decades monetizing the build-out and digitization of China's institutional capital markets. The current stage is an attempt to turn a sprawling, labor-heavy financial-IT franchise into a smaller but more profitable one, while upgrading core platforms and adding AI/data functions. The installed base remains valuable. Revenue momentum and earnings purity do not yet show that the transition has succeeded.

The company's origin explains why the moat formed. Hundsun traces its operating beginnings to eight founders in Hangzhou in February 1995. The listing documents describe the formal corporate predecessor through a 1997 entity and subsequent restructuring, with the business converted into a joint-stock company in 2000. The apparent discrepancy is best understood as the distinction between the founding operating team and the legal predecessor ultimately used for the IPO, rather than as evidence that either date is necessarily erroneous. The early business was already financial application software for securities, banks and funds: the basic market Hundsun still serves today.

The IPO came on 16 December 2003 in Shanghai. Hundsun issued 17 million A shares at RMB 15.53, raising RMB 264.0 million gross and RMB 244.1 million net. Post-issue share capital was 68 million shares, implying an issue-price equity value of about RMB 1.06 billion. The IPO story was straightforward: China was formalizing, computerizing and scaling its securities and fund industries, and Hundsun sold the systems that made those institutions function.

From roughly 2004 through 2013, Hundsun became a national core-system provider rather than a small application-software company. The lasting achievement of this period was installation depth, not one product launch. Once core transaction, settlement and investment systems sat inside dozens of regulated financial firms, every regulatory rule change, product innovation and architecture migration created both work for Hundsun and a reason for clients to think hard before replacing it. Historical market-share figures around 80–93% in some fund/securities categories illustrate how far that installed base had gone by 2012.

The next turn came in 2014. Zhejiang Rongxin, then overwhelmingly controlled by Jack Ma, agreed to buy 100% of Hangzhou Hundsun Electronics Group, the listed company's controlling shareholder, for roughly RMB 3.299 billion. The acquisition indirectly transferred about 20.6% of Hundsun Technologies and made Ma its then actual controller. Contemporary reporting stressed the potential combination of financial IT with the emerging internet-finance ecosystem.

That internet-finance enthusiasm ran directly into regulation. Hundsun Network's HOMS system became one of the technologies used in the off-exchange leveraged-account structures that drew intense scrutiny during the 2015 stock-market turmoil. The final CSRC penalty required confiscation of approximately RMB 109.9 million of illegal income and a roughly RMB 329.6 million fine, about RMB 439.5 million combined. The penalty devastated Hundsun Network's finances and pushed Hundsun's 2016 attributable profit down dramatically. This episode matters today because it disproves the comforting idea that deep integration into financial infrastructure is only a moat. It also creates regulatory liability when technology moves faster than the rules governing market access.

Hundsun recovered. During the late 2010s and the 2020–23 capital-market digitization cycle, revenue expanded, R&D spending rose and investors again treated the company as a premium financial-software compounder. Revenue eventually reached RMB 7.28 billion in 2023. The market also assigned financial-technology names much higher multiples during the 2020–21 growth/style boom than it does today; contemporary sell-side work valued Hundsun at multiples well above the current headline P/E. The business recovered from HOMS because the institutional installed base survived the scandal.

Ownership changed again upstream. Following Ant Group's governance restructuring, Hundsun's change to “no actual controller” status was completed in December 2023. This does not mean the Ant relationship disappeared. Hangzhou Hundsun Electronics Group remained the listed company's controlling shareholder and held 20.79% at the end of 2025 and again in Q1 2026; Ant Group owns 100% of that controlling-shareholder entity. The correct formulation is therefore: Ant is the sole owner of Hundsun's controlling-shareholder company, while Hundsun Technologies itself reports no actual controller under the post-restructuring control framework. “Ant controls Hundsun” compresses legally distinct concepts into one slogan.

The present stage began in 2024. Revenue fell 9.6%, then another 12.1% in 2025, and around 11.6% in 2026 H1. Management has responded by cutting headcount-related expense, pruning poor-return projects and emphasizing cash flow and per-employee profitability. This is a rational response to weaker economics. It is not yet evidence of renewed growth.

Financial vertical review, business model and moat

Hundsun's revenue profile makes the contraction easier to locate. In 2025 the three largest businesses (wealth technology, asset-management technology, and operations/institutional technology) each generated roughly RMB 1.26–1.32 billion. Asset-management technology fell almost 20%; risk/platform technology fell 32%; enterprise-finance, insurance-core and financial-infrastructure technology fell almost 22%. Operations/institutional technology was comparatively resilient at a 1.8% decline. Data services were nearly flat, while innovation revenue declined 4.9%.

The table explains management's pruning strategy. A renminbi of enterprise-finance/insurance-core revenue carried only about a 41% gross margin in 2025, against 73–78% in the core wealth, asset-management and institutional businesses. Shrinking weak bank/bill/data-platform projects can make total revenue look worse while improving the mix of future earnings. The problem is that high-margin asset-management revenue itself declined almost 20%, so product pruning cannot explain away the whole contraction.

Hundsun's annual revenue breakdown does not disclose a clean split among recurring maintenance, subscription, new licenses and implementation projects. That is a serious analytical limitation. The company explicitly refers to subscription development in its Juyuan data business, and core clients clearly generate maintenance and upgrade work, but there is no ARR, renewal-rate or net-retention KPI that allows Hundsun to be modeled as conventional SaaS. Investors should resist taking a 70% gross margin and mechanically attaching a global recurring-software multiple to it.

The cost structure is dominated by people. Software development, project delivery, customization, sales and support require engineers, while product relevance requires continuous R&D. Hundsun spent RMB 2.18 billion on R&D in 2025, 37.7% of revenue, with 5,463 R&D personnel making up about 53% of employees. All R&D was expensed. This is one reason reported gross margin can be high while the final operating margin is much lower: a large fraction of economically necessary product cost sits below gross profit as R&D expense.

That structure produces unusual operating leverage. When revenue grew, a fixed product platform could support more customers. When revenue began to shrink, management could still defend earnings by reducing compensation, sales expense and lower-quality projects. In 2025 employee cash payments fell roughly 18% year on year, far faster than revenue. That cannot continue indefinitely without a trade-off. A core financial-system vendor can reduce redundant delivery capacity; sustained cuts to engineering eventually threaten implementation quality and product leadership. The question for 2027–28 is whether Hundsun has removed excess cost or is eating into the workforce that maintains its switching-cost moat.

The five-year financial arc is therefore more informative than the latest EPS number.

Fiscal year Revenue, RMB bn Revenue growth Attributable net profit, RMB bn
2021 5.50 1.46
2022 6.50 18.3% 1.09
2023 7.28 12.0% 1.42
2024 6.58 -9.6% 1.04
2025 5.78 -12.1% 1.23

Historical figures are compiled from company financial disclosures; 2025 figures are from the latest audited annual report.

Revenue was still compounding through 2023. Since then, profit and revenue have decoupled. In 2025 attributed profit rose because costs, impairments and especially investment income moved in Hundsun's favor. The business did not generate 18% operating growth on 12% lower sales.

Cash conversion is better than the 2026 H1 seasonal outflow makes it look, but not strong enough to make the valuation cheap. Full-year 2025 operating cash flow was RMB 1.067 billion, up 22.9%, versus attributable net profit of RMB 1.231 billion. Reported capital spending on fixed/intangible and other long-lived assets was RMB 239 million, yielding conventional 2025 free cash flow of about RMB 828 million. The company historically has had much larger investment-property and campus-related capex (2021 long-asset purchases were about RMB 684 million), so reported capex should not all be treated as recurring maintenance.

For the owner-earnings calculation I use maintenance capex of roughly RMB 180 million, close to 2025 depreciation and amortization of around RMB 183 million. That produces estimated 2025 owner cash earnings of approximately RMB 887 million. This is an assumption rather than a disclosed company KPI; a reasonable maintenance range of RMB 150–220 million does not change the valuation conclusion materially. At the current RMB 41.9 billion market value, RMB 887 million represents a roughly 2.1% owner-earnings yield, or about 47 times owner earnings.

Across 2021–25, operating cash flow has been volatile because contract liabilities, annual collections, payroll and project acceptance all move working capital sharply; on a cumulative basis I estimate operating cash flow at roughly 1.2 times cumulative reported net income. That long-run relationship is healthier than a single H1 cash-flow figure suggests. The 2026 first-half pre-announcement nevertheless expects operating cash flow near negative RMB 984 million. Management says a previously accrued land value-added-tax payment explains part of the deterioration and that excluding it the year-on-year cash position would have improved by roughly RMB 170 million.

The balance sheet can absorb considerable volatility. At 31 March 2026 Hundsun held about RMB 0.94 billion of cash, RMB 2.11 billion of trading financial assets, RMB 2.71 billion of long-term equity investments and RMB 2.13 billion of other non-current financial assets, against roughly RMB 0.41–0.43 billion of short- and long-term borrowings. Not all those investments are liquid or disposable at book value; nevertheless, financial leverage is not the central risk. Goodwill stood at about RMB 620 million, material but manageable relative to roughly RMB 10 billion of parent equity.

The moat that matters. Hundsun's strongest protection is switching cost coupled with domain knowledge. A brokerage or fund manager can replace a marketing tool without endangering trade processing. Migrating its core transaction, investment-accounting or operations architecture is a multi-year technology and compliance project with operational-risk consequences. Hundsun accumulated that position before cloud software lowered the technical barrier to entry. Historical installed shares and three decades of financial-product knowledge reinforce one another.

The second moat is regulatory and product knowledge rather than a formal license monopoly. Every change in market microstructure, risk controls, reporting, new financial instruments or domestic-technology requirements has to be translated into production software. Vendors that already understand both the rulebook and their clients' legacy architecture can implement faster and with less operational risk. This is also why regulation creates lumpy revenue instead of smooth SaaS growth: mandatory change arrives in waves, while the customer's project acceptance process determines when Hundsun recognizes revenue. The company does not disclose enough data to quantify what percentage of revenue is regulation-forced versus discretionary IT spending.

The moat is weaker outside those core systems. The 40.6% gross margin of the enterprise-finance/insurance-core/infrastructure segment and management's willingness to shrink parts of bank wealth and data-platform activity suggest those areas carry less differentiated economics. Hundsun's own behavior is useful evidence: management is allocating people away from activities where the installed base does not produce attractive returns.

Customer consolidation cuts both ways. Larger securities firms can afford bigger technology budgets and need more sophisticated systems, which helps a proven core vendor. They can also build more internally and exert greater bargaining power. An installed core becomes more valuable as the customer gets larger, but the vendor faces a tougher opponent in price and architecture negotiations. The structural threat is therefore less likely to be a start-up suddenly displacing every Hundsun installation and more likely to be large brokers progressively internalizing key components while vendors compete for the remaining stack.

Governance deserves neither the automatic “Ant premium” nor an automatic discount. In 2025 actual day-to-day related-party transactions totaled about RMB 70.8 million, including roughly RMB 48.1 million of software/services sales. Against RMB 5.78 billion of revenue, related-party sales were only about 0.83% and all disclosed operating related-party transactions about 1.22%. For 2026 the company estimated no more than RMB 108.6 million of such transactions. Commercial dependence on Ant-group counterparties is therefore small in reported revenue terms.

The economic relationship is broader through investments, particularly Ant Fund. That can provide valuable earnings and industry proximity, but it also makes consolidated earnings a hybrid of software operations and financial-equity exposure. That calls for sum-of-the-parts analysis rather than giving every yuan of associate profit the same multiple as core software.

Management alignment is not absent. Chairman Peng Zhenggang and other long-standing executives retain direct shareholdings, and the company has continued employee equity incentives. A 2026–28 employee-ownership incentive framework uses at least 10% annual growth in deducted attributable profit as a company-level performance hurdle. That is an incentive condition rather than earnings guidance, so the hurdle should not be put into a forecast as if management promised to deliver it.

Capital allocation is mixed. Hundsun remains modestly levered and paid RMB 0.20 per share for 2025, but its large portfolio of equity and financial investments complicates what would otherwise be a clean asset-light software balance sheet. The financial assets give downside protection and optionality; they also contribute accounting noise and reduce transparency about how much return belongs to the software franchise.

Industry, cycle and horizontal competitors

Hundsun operates at the intersection of three cycles: the capital-market activity cycle, the institutional IT-budget cycle and the regulatory/technology-upgrade cycle. Those cycles are correlated but not synchronized. A stock-market rally improves securities-industry economics and ultimately permits larger IT budgets. Regulatory rules can force spending even when profitability is weak. Major platform replacements take long enough that revenue recognition may occur after the original market catalyst has faded.

That is why comparing Hundsun directly with retail financial-information companies can be misleading. China’s broad software and IT-service industry generated roughly RMB 15.48 trillion of revenue in 2025, up 13.2%, according to MIIT statistics cited in Hithink RoyalFlush's annual report, but that huge number is not a usable TAM for Hundsun's institutional capital-markets software niche. I found no current primary-source TAM estimate with sufficiently precise segment definitions to use in valuation, so this report does not fabricate one.

The most useful way to see Hundsun's cycle is through client behavior. In 2025 and early 2026 the company deliberately reduced less profitable projects while reporting longer acceptance cycles. Q1 2026 orders still grew and contract liabilities rose 10.19%, and the H1 pre-announcement says contract orders increased double digits. That indicates the revenue decline came from a mixture of pruning and order-to-revenue conversion, rather than from a clean collapse in new demand.

This distinction changes the forward thesis. A completed one-off regulatory-upgrade wave would imply a structural air pocket with few orders behind it. Hundsun is reporting the opposite: orders are growing, but projects are not becoming revenue quickly. If the August interim report and subsequent quarters show contract liabilities converting, 2026 could prove to be the trough. If orders remain strong while revenue continues falling through 2027, the project backlog is lower quality than it appears, or the company is structurally less efficient at delivery.

Policy works through both offense and defense. More complex financial-product regulation, suitability requirements, cybersecurity, audit trails, data governance and domestic-technology substitution can require institutions to replace or modify systems. At the same time, HOMS showed how severely regulatory authorities can punish a vendor whose system enables prohibited activity. Financial software therefore earns a switching-cost moat partly because compliance matters so much; that same dependence means regulatory mistakes can damage the franchise far more than a normal enterprise-software bug.

The company also has relatively limited direct geopolitical revenue exposure because its core clients and market infrastructure are Chinese. The more relevant geopolitical issue is technology architecture: restrictions or policy pressure around imported databases, middleware, servers and cybersecurity can accelerate domestic substitution. That can create project work for Hundsun while simultaneously opening procurement doors for state-backed domestic vendors and in-house solutions. The same policy can strengthen the addressable market and intensify competition.

The horizontal landscape is best treated as Scenario C: several domestic competitors, none a perfect whole-company match. Apexsoft is the most useful listed head-to-head reference in securities technology; Kingdom Sci-Tech is a broader and generally lower-margin financial-IT competitor; Wintime is narrower in asset-management technology and is complicated as a peer by Hundsun's investment relationship with it. Hithink RoyalFlush belongs in the analysis because it monetizes the retail side of Chinese capital-market digitization, not because it sells the same product.

Where the RoyalFlush analogy breaks. Hithink RoyalFlush's 2025 revenue rose 44.0% to RMB 6.03 billion and attributable profit jumped 75.8% to RMB 3.21 billion. Its July 2026 H1 pre-announcement subsequently guided to RMB 878–979 million of first-half profit, up 75–95%. Hundsun, exposed to the same broad revival in Chinese market activity, is reporting H1 institutional-software revenue down 11.6%. This is the cleanest empirical proof that the “capital markets are active, therefore both companies grow” shortcut fails.

RoyalFlush monetizes investor attention, financial data, advertising, subscription/telecom services, software, fund distribution and transaction-related services. Higher market activity can increase user engagement and advertiser/customer demand quickly, with relatively little project acceptance friction. Hundsun signs enterprise contracts, customizes and implements systems, incurs engineering labor and recognizes significant revenue only after project milestones and acceptance. One company feels market activity through digital traffic and conversion; the other feels it through institutional budgets and lengthy implementations.

That difference also explains margin structure. RoyalFlush can add a paying user or advertising client at high incremental economics once data and platform infrastructure exist. Hundsun's core gross margins are high, but each large institution can require implementation work and support. Global information businesses such as MSCI, Moody's and FactSet are therefore useful only as a reminder of what genuinely recurring data economics can look like. Their index, rating and subscription models are not legitimate business-model equivalents for Hundsun's enterprise implementation business.

Apexsoft deserves more attention as a competitive signal. In Q1 2026 it reported about RMB 150 million of revenue, up 5.3%, and RMB 46.4 million of attributable profit, up 117.8%. Hundsun's Q1 revenue declined 11.8%. A single quarter from a much smaller competitor does not prove share loss, but it disproves the idea that every securities-software vendor was necessarily suffering the same revenue trajectory.

Kingdom Sci-Tech provides the opposite evidence. Its Q1 revenue was roughly RMB 462 million, down 11.3%, with an attributable loss of about RMB 49 million. That suggests real sectoral pressure exists alongside company-specific execution differences. Hundsun is neither uniquely broken nor entitled to blame the entire decline on the industry.

Wintime is a useful specialist reference in asset-management software, but it is a poor independent valuation comparable because Hundsun held a meaningful equity-accounted stake and reduced part of that exposure in 2025. The relationship illustrates another feature of Hundsun's ecosystem strategy: it has sometimes chosen to own pieces of adjacent financial-technology businesses instead of operating every niche internally.

The customer-choice picture is therefore quite specific. An institution picks Hundsun because the vendor has decades of accumulated securities/fund workflows, a large installed base and perceived implementation safety. It might pick Apexsoft because a smaller architecture can be more focused, agile or commercially aggressive in securities use cases. It may use Kingdom for a broader range of financial-IT projects. A large broker can increasingly build selected modules internally. The last route is the structural threat investors should take most seriously, because in-house systems erode the vendor profit pool without requiring a single external competitor to “beat” Hundsun outright.

Current audited market-share disclosure is the weakest part of the competitive evidence. Historical percentages establish that Hundsun once held dominant positions in several categories. I found no 2025/26 primary disclosure proving that a specific current core product still has, for example, 50%, 70% or 90% share. Any contemporary claim of a precise securities-core share should therefore be treated as vendor or brokerage research until validated from a consistently defined industry dataset.

AI belongs in the same fact-first framework. Hundsun has publicized financial AI and the Q1 report specifically said AI-related data-purchasing demand helped data-service revenue rise 29.45%. That is real evidence of an AI-linked commercial effect. The filings do not isolate AI product revenue, contracted value, seat pricing, deployment pricing, renewal rates, contribution margin or the split between pilots and production installations. I therefore assign no separate AI valuation in the model.

That treatment is deliberately stricter than the market narrative. AI could materially improve Hundsun's products: research assistants, advisory workflows, coding, compliance, risk controls and data retrieval are natural financial-institution use cases. But an attractive use case is not revenue. Until AI can be traced through orders, revenue or pricing, its current investment value is optionality inside the existing franchise rather than a second business line.

Current fundamentals, valuation and expectation gap

The latest four-quarter picture shows a company defending the income statement while waiting for revenue conversion.

In 2025 Hundsun produced RMB 5.783 billion of revenue, down 12.1%, RMB 1.231 billion of attributable profit, up 18.0%, and RMB 1.013 billion of deducted attributable profit, up 21.5%. Operating cash flow rose to RMB 1.067 billion. The apparent profit improvement came from lower personnel-linked expenses, better impairments and a sharp rise in investment income, particularly associates.

Q1 2026 intensified the divergence. Revenue was RMB 905 million, down 11.75%; attributable profit was RMB 138.8 million, up 342.9%; deducted profit was RMB 72.5 million. Associates contributed RMB 106.3 million of equity-accounted investment income, while fair-value changes contributed RMB 51.7 million. Sales cash receipts rose 5.2%, contract orders increased and contract liabilities rose 10.19%, which is the strongest operating evidence supporting a later revenue rebound.

The H1 pre-announcement then removes some of the Q1 optical strength. Revenue is expected around RMB 2.144 billion, down 11.64%; attributable profit around RMB 262 million, up only 0.69%; deducted profit around RMB 210 million, up 9.3%. My derived Q2 figures imply that both reported and deducted profit fell materially in Q2 even while the revenue decline remained about 11.5%.

The market is currently trading several ideas at once: that higher orders eventually convert to revenue; that management can remove structurally low-return business without harming the core; that a healthier Chinese capital market revives institutional IT budgets; that regulatory/domestic-technology projects create a new replacement cycle; and that AI raises product value. The first three can be tested in 2026–27 financial statements. The AI part cannot yet be valued separately.

The share price shows that investors have already become much less willing to prepay the recovery. At RMB 22.12 on 14 August, the stock was roughly 45% below its 52-week high of RMB 40.22 and near the lower end of its reported 52-week range of RMB 20.04–40.22. Falling price alone does not make the shares cheap because the earnings denominator has simultaneously become less operationally pure.

The valuation premise. Using the H1 pre-announcement, 2025 audited results and roughly 1.894 billion shares, I estimate trailing attributable earnings around RMB 1.23 billion, putting the current headline P/E near 34 times. On trailing deducted attributable earnings of roughly RMB 1.03 billion, the multiple rises to about 40.6 times. On estimated 2025 owner cash earnings of around RMB 887 million, the market value is about 47 times owner earnings, equivalent to a 2.1% yield. If equity-accounted associate income is stripped out as well, the effective multiple on the software operating franchise is higher again, broadly in the 50-times-plus area depending on how Q2 associate income is eventually reported.

The roughly 38% gap between a 34-times headline P/E and 47-times owner-earnings multiple is large enough that I default to owner earnings and sum-of-the-parts, rather than headline EPS, for absolute valuation. That is especially appropriate because Hundsun holds roughly RMB 7–8 billion of net financial and equity-investment assets in addition to the core software operation.

Historical valuation offers context but no easy bargain signal. During the 2020–21 financial-technology growth cycle, investors and sell-side models assigned Hundsun materially higher earnings multiples, in some cases 50–80 times. The current headline multiple is far below that regime. I cannot reproduce a defensible exact 10-year percentile from primary filings because historical split-adjusted third-party P/E series use different earnings definitions. A current 40–50-times adjusted earnings multiple should not be called “cheap” merely because the stock once traded at an extreme growth premium.

Peer valuation also needs restraint. RoyalFlush deserves a higher multiple for current growth if that growth is durable because 2025 revenue and profit are expanding sharply and its platform economics are more immediately scalable. Apexsoft's Q1 acceleration is competitively relevant but its smaller scale makes its multiple less directly transferable. Kingdom is loss-making in the latest quarter, making P/E comparison unhelpful. A neat four-company P/E table would create more precision than the business models support.

The absolute valuation uses three components: normalized owner cash earnings from the core operation, a justified multiple for a high-switching-cost but currently contracting enterprise-software franchise, and a separately valued pool of net financial/equity investments. The Q1 balance sheet supports a gross financial/investment pool above RMB 8 billion and net debt of only several hundred million; I haircut that pool for operating cash needs, illiquidity and realization risk.

Dimension Conservative Base Optimistic
Normalized core owner earnings RMB 0.90bn RMB 1.10bn RMB 1.30bn
Core owner-earnings multiple 30× 34× 38×
Net investment value credited RMB 7.0bn RMB 7.5bn RMB 7.4bn
Implied equity value RMB 34.0bn RMB 44.9bn RMB 56.8bn
Implied value per share CNY 18.0 CNY 23.7 ≈ 24.0 CNY 30.0
Upside/(downside) from CNY 22.12 -18.6% +7.1% +35.6%
Revenue/margin assumption Revenue stabilizes; no major margin rebound 2027–28 revenue recovery; core mix improves Double-digit core recovery with strong operating leverage
Cash-flow assumption Owner earnings stay near 2025 level Owner earnings recover about 20–25% Owner earnings rise about 45%
Key catalyst Backlog conversion Orders convert and asset-management/core revenue returns to growth Core replacement cycle plus monetized AI/data uplift
Permanent-loss risk trigger: revenue remains below -5% while orders roll over trigger: core owner earnings fail to reach RMB 1.1bn trigger: market prices AI/recovery before revenue appears

These are valuation scenarios within a research framework, not investment advice.

The conservative multiple of 30 times is already generous for a contracting business viewed in isolation. I use it because Hundsun's core switching costs, balance sheet and historical installed base have real quality. The base case requires more than cost cutting: normalized owner earnings must climb to about RMB 1.1 billion, which means backlog conversion and better core revenue. The optimistic value effectively assumes the market again treats Hundsun as a growth software franchise. It cannot be justified solely by stable profit from associates.

The valuation is deliberately more demanding than headline EPS. A conventional “RMB 1.5 billion earnings × 30 P/E” model could easily produce a higher target, but that would give the same multiple to earnings from Ant Fund and to Hundsun's core software economics. Sum-of-the-parts avoids that category error.

The expectation gap is concentrated in three forthcoming datapoints. First, the 26 August interim report should disclose the precise investment-income, associate-income, expense and cash-flow bridge. Second, investors need evidence that double-digit order growth is becoming recognized revenue rather than permanently lengthening backlog. Third, core high-margin businesses need to stop shrinking, especially asset management, wealth and operations/institutional.

A fourth variable is AI monetization. The market does not need a separate AI segment immediately, but it eventually needs one of three measurable outcomes: higher software price, larger order value, or incremental subscription/data revenue. The Q1 data-services growth is an encouraging first signal. It is insufficient to justify adding a discrete AI terminal value.

The margin-of-safety check produces a harsher result than the base valuation. At CNY 22.12 the stock trades above the CNY 18 conservative intrinsic-value estimate. The margin of safety to the conservative case is therefore zero.

The most fragile base-case assumption is that normalized core owner earnings recover to RMB 1.10 billion. Cutting that assumption to 70%, while retaining the base 34-times multiple and RMB 7.5 billion investment value, reduces base valuation to about CNY 17.8 per share. That is roughly 20% below the current price.

The flat-earnings test is weaker still. At the 2025 RMB 0.20 dividend, the cash yield at CNY 22.12 is only about 0.9%. If earnings, dividend and valuation are flat for three years, that is roughly the investor's annual cash return before any re-rating. China's 10-year government-bond yield was about 1.69–1.70% on 14 August 2026. On that deliberately severe flat-growth test, there is no margin of safety at this buy price.

Margin-of-safety verdict: none. Hundsun may be a better business than the conservative case implies, but the current price already requires part of the recovery to occur. Existing shareholders can rationally hold that optionality; a new buyer is not being paid much for the risk that revenue conversion takes another two years.

Risk, catalysts, tracking and cross-synthesis conclusion

The highest-probability risk is prolonged revenue contraction. I rate the probability high and the impact medium-to-high. The observable indicators are quarterly revenue, new-order growth and contract liabilities. The transmission path is direct: orders stop growing or fail to convert, engineers remain underutilized, management eventually exhausts easy cost reductions, and the market begins valuing Hundsun as an ex-growth IT vendor rather than a premium financial-software franchise. Two more quarters below -5% revenue growth after the current backlog claims would materially weaken the recovery thesis.

The second risk is gradual moat erosion. I rate probability medium and impact high. Apexsoft's Q1 growth while Hundsun contracted is an early competitive observation, not proof of share loss. The more structural danger comes from large securities firms combining specialist vendors with internal development. The indicators would be named core-system tender losses, falling gross margin in the 73–78% core segments, and lower order growth despite healthy brokerage profitability. Once a customer migrates a core architecture, switching costs begin working for the new platform instead of Hundsun.

The third risk is earnings-quality mispricing. Probability is high because it is already observable; impact is medium unless associate profitability reverses sharply. In 2025 associates contributed RMB 254 million of investment income, and in Q1 2026 RMB 106 million. If investors continue valuing those earnings as though they were recurring high-growth software profits, a normalization in Ant Fund or other associates can cause both EPS disappointment and multiple compression. The August interim filing's equity-accounted investment-income line is the clearest indicator.

The fourth risk is regulatory/governance shock. I rate probability low-to-medium and impact high. Current related-party operating transactions are small, which lowers day-to-day dependency risk. HOMS shows the tail risk: a financial-infrastructure vendor can incur severe legal and reputational damage if its technology enables activity regulators deem unlawful. The Ant ownership chain also means upstream governance changes can affect the narrative even where operating related-party revenue is immaterial. The indicators are enforcement notices, material related-party growth, control changes and major customer compliance incidents.

The fifth risk is valuation compression without a business crisis. Probability is medium and impact high. Even after a large share-price decline, Hundsun trades around 41 times trailing deducted earnings and roughly 47 times estimated owner earnings. A shift from 34–40 times accounting earnings toward a 20–25-times mature-IT range could overwhelm modest earnings growth. This is the classic permanent-loss path for a good installed-base franchise bought before its growth rate has been re-established.

AI expectation risk is secondary for now because my valuation assigns AI no standalone value. A failed AI product therefore does less damage to my intrinsic value than to a thematic bull case. The risk becomes larger if investors re-rate the stock before disclosures show product revenue, contract values or price uplift.

Positive catalysts begin with the interim report on 26 August. A low Q2 associate-income contribution combined with better core margins than this report assumes would improve earnings quality. A material increase in contract liabilities or disclosed backlog, followed by revenue conversion in H2, would challenge the view that the business remains structurally stalled.

The stronger 12-month catalyst would be the first quarter in which core revenue grows without a sacrifice in gross margin. Asset-management technology matters disproportionately because it generated a 78.4% gross margin in 2025. Wealth and operations/institutional technology would provide confirmation that the rebound is broad rather than one project slipping between quarters.

AI/data can become a genuine catalyst if the company begins disclosing paid deployments or observable order/revenue uplift. Data services already grew 29.45% in Q1, partly attributed by Hundsun to AI-driven data demand. Repeating that growth on a larger base would be more persuasive than another product announcement.

Negative catalysts are easier to define: orders turning negative, contract liabilities shrinking, the August report showing H1 associate income is an even larger share of profit than Q1 suggested, or renewed declines in 70%+ gross-margin core businesses. A regulatory investigation involving core market infrastructure would instantly supersede normal earnings analysis.

A practical tracking dashboard follows.

The first five indicators belong together. Rising orders with falling revenue can persist temporarily. Rising orders, rising contract liabilities and then improving revenue establish backlog conversion. If all three improve while gross margin remains around 70% and R&D stays adequately funded, the transition is working. Conversely, cutting R&D sufficiently to protect near-term profit while revenue keeps falling would undermine the long-term thesis.

Bull reasons.

  • Historical installed positions in securities and fund core systems imply substantial switching costs, while the 2025 core asset-management and operations businesses still carried gross margins around 78%.
  • Q1 contract liabilities rose 10.19% and H1 orders reportedly grew double digits despite revenue falling, leaving a credible path to delayed revenue conversion rather than requiring demand to be rebuilt from zero.
  • Cost discipline has materially lowered personnel-related expense without R&D capitalization, so the earnings improvement is not being created by capitalizing development costs.
  • The balance sheet contains roughly RMB 7–8 billion of net financial/equity-investment value and little conventional financial leverage, giving Hundsun time to fund a product transition.
  • Data-service revenue rose 29.45% in Q1 with the company explicitly citing AI-driven data demand, providing at least one financial KPI connected to the AI narrative.

Bear reasons.

  • Revenue peaked around RMB 7.28 billion in 2023, fell 9.6% in 2024 and 12.1% in 2025, and is expected to fall another 11.6% in 2026 H1; this is a multi-year contraction, not a single bad quarter.
  • 2025 associate investment income rose to RMB 254 million and Q1 2026 associate income reached RMB 106 million, meaning a meaningful part of reported earnings growth was produced outside the core software operation.
  • At CNY 22.12 the stock is still about 41 times trailing deducted earnings and around 47 times estimated owner earnings, so the de-rating has not created a conventional value multiple.
  • Apexsoft grew Q1 revenue while Hundsun contracted, meaning competitive execution can differ materially even within the same institutional financial-IT environment.
  • The company does not disclose recurring maintenance/ARR economics or current audited core-system market shares, making both moat persistence and sustainable revenue quality harder to verify than headline “market leader” descriptions imply.

Pre-mortem. The first three-year loss script is gradual displacement rather than collapse. During 2027–28, Apexsoft and internal brokerage IT teams win enough new core-module tenders that Hundsun's new-project pricing falls 20% and its main-business gross margin declines from roughly 71% toward 63–65%. Revenue stagnates near RMB 5.5–6.0 billion and normalized owner earnings fall toward RMB 650–700 million. The market stops paying a premium software multiple and values core earnings near 24 times; even adding roughly RMB 6 billion of realizable investments would imply equity value around RMB 22 billion, or roughly CNY 11–12 per share. That is close to a 50% loss from today's price. This is a stress script, not a forecast.

The second script is an earnings-quality unwind. The software business continues shrinking through 2027, while Ant Fund and other associates normalize after a strong period. Reported attributable earnings fall below RMB 900 million just as investors decide that equity-accounted financial earnings deserve a lower multiple than core software. At 23–25 times consolidated earnings the equity value could fall toward RMB 21–23 billion, again around CNY 11–12 per share. No balance-sheet crisis is necessary; the loss comes from the simultaneous removal of earnings support and valuation premium.

Final research conclusion. Looking vertically, Hundsun has proved one capability beyond reasonable dispute: it can embed itself deeply enough in China's institutional financial infrastructure that clients keep using its systems through technology shifts, bull and bear markets and even a major regulatory scandal. That is a real business achievement. The original success came from both company capability and an extraordinary era tailwind. China spent three decades building securities, fund and wealth-management infrastructure; Hundsun happened to be there early, and management turned that timing into domain knowledge and switching costs. Historical market share and sustained high core-segment gross margins show that the outcome was more than luck.

Looking horizontally, that advantage remains strongest where failure is expensive: core securities, asset-management and operations systems. Hundsun's weaker areas are already revealing themselves through low margins and deliberate retrenchment. The challenge is that even high-margin asset-management revenue fell sharply in 2025, while a smaller direct competitor managed Q1 growth. I therefore regard the current weakness as partly cyclical/operational and partly structural until revenue evidence proves otherwise.

The most important market misjudgment is likely the treatment of earnings quality. The simple story says “revenue is down 12%, yet profit is stable, therefore cost efficiency has improved dramatically.” Cost efficiency has improved, but associates and investment income are doing heavy work. The opposite extreme (“all the profit is a one-off Wintime disposal”) is also wrong. The matching Wintime gain occurred in 2025 H2. Hundsun's 2026 profit support comes primarily from ongoing equity-accounted associates, which are economically real but not evidence that institutions are buying more Hundsun software.

For the next year, the key variable is order conversion. For three years, it is whether Hundsun can return normalized core owner earnings above RMB 1.1 billion without starving R&D. For five years, the decisive variable is whether institutional customers still prefer an external core vendor as domestic technology stacks mature and large brokers build more internally.

At the current price the stock is neither obviously distressed nor obviously inexpensive. The balance sheet and installed base make a permanent impairment less likely than at a leveraged, commoditized software company. The 40–50-times adjusted earnings economics make a satisfactory return dependent on renewed growth. That combination fits a Hold rather than a new-money Buy: existing shareholders still own valuable recovery optionality; a buyer at CNY 22.12 receives little conservative-case margin of safety.

【Investment rating】

  • Rating: Hold
  • One-line thesis: Core switching costs remain valuable, but 2026 H1 revenue fell 11.6% and reported earnings still rely materially on associate income.
  • Current-price classification: acceptable hold
  • Whether to wait for a better price: yes. For new money, I would require either CNY 13.0–14.4 without deterioration in the installed-base thesis, or materially stronger fundamentals that lift conservative intrinsic value, specifically sustained positive core revenue growth and normalized owner earnings above RMB 1.1 billion. The opportunity cost is missing a sharp rerating if the existing backlog converts rapidly.
  • Target holding horizon: 3–5 years
  • Expected annualized return over roughly three years: conservative about -5.6%; base about +3.8%; optimistic about +11.8%, including modest cash dividends and assuming convergence toward the scenario values.
  • Max-loss risk: about 45–55% in the pre-mortem cases, with a CNY 10–12 stress-zone if core share/margins erode and the earnings multiple simultaneously compresses.
  • Reassessment-trigger signals: two consecutive quarters of revenue growth below -5% after 2026 H2; contract-order or contract-liability growth turning negative; full-year main-business gross margin below 67%; normalized owner earnings below RMB 750 million; or associate investment income remaining above 30% of attributable earnings on a sustained basis.

【Ideal Buy Price】13.0–14.4 CNY Basis: at least a 20% discount to the approximately CNY 18 conservative-case intrinsic value, preserving a genuine margin of safety rather than relying on the base-case recovery.

Acceptable hold price: CNY 20.4–27.6, approximately ±15% around the CNY 24 base-case value.

Clearly overvalued price: CNY 33.0 and above, at least 10% above the CNY 30 optimistic-case intrinsic value.

【Valuation Range】

  • current: 22.12 CNY (close as of 2026-08-14)
  • bear (conservative · ideal buy zone): [13.0, 14.4]
  • base (fair · acceptable hold zone): [20.4, 27.6]
  • bull (optimistic · above the clearly-overvalued line): [33.0, 36.0]

The rating would move upward before the stock reaches the ideal-buy band only if the fundamental denominator changes. Two quarters of genuine core revenue growth, continued positive order momentum, asset-management/wealth gross margins near historical levels and full-year owner earnings above RMB 1.1 billion would justify recalculating the conservative value upward. Conversely, a falling backlog combined with continued double-digit revenue contraction would make even a lower share price less attractive.

The research has four meaningful blind spots. The 2026 interim report is not due until 26 August, so Q2 associate income, full H1 segment profitability and the exact operating-only earnings bridge are unavailable today. Hundsun does not disclose a recurring-maintenance/ARR split, preventing a clean measure of contracted recurring revenue. Current market shares by precisely defined securities/fund core-product category are not independently disclosed with the consistency needed for an institutional share model. Finally, AI revenue cannot be isolated from current filings; any explicit AI revenue forecast would therefore be invented rather than researched.

The source hierarchy used here puts Hundsun's 2025 audited annual report, 2026 Q1 filing, H1 earnings pre-announcement, ownership/related-party announcements and historic IPO documents first; CSRC and ChinaBond/CFETS data anchor regulatory and rate claims. Contemporary financial media are used mainly to reconstruct the 2014 ownership transaction, HOMS enforcement and the Wintime disposal where the original events predate the current filings. Peer-company annual/quarterly disclosures are preferred over thematic market commentary.

  • How high is its market ceiling — is it growing a slice of an existing pie, or creating an entirely new market?4/10

A slice of an existing pie — and in 2025 the pie grew about 20% while Hundsun's slice shrank 12%.

Hundsun created no market. Securities firms and fund managers already ran trading, investment-accounting, operations and wealth functions; Hundsun computerised them. The report says so plainly: the company "spent its first three decades monetizing the build-out and digitization of China's institutional capital markets."

The customer universe is countable and closed. China had 150 securities companies at end-2025 (中国证券业协会) and 165 licensed public-fund managers running RMB 37.71tn of net assets (AMAC via 新华网). With a few hundred possible logos there is no user-acquisition curve; growth has to come from wallet share per account.

The decisive test is that the pie grew and Hundsun did not. Those 150 securities firms earned RMB 541.171bn of revenue in 2025, up 19.95%, and RMB 219.439bn of net profit, up 31.20% (中证协 via 证券时报). Hundsun's revenue fell 12.1% to RMB 5.783bn that same year, then another 11.64% in 2026 H1. Client technology budgets rose too: Guotai Haitong spent RMB 3.235bn on IT in 2025, up 47.05%, and Huatai RMB 2.679bn against RMB 2.448bn (证券时报). One client's annual IT budget is 3.235/5.783 = 56% of Hundsun's entire group revenue. Money is flowing into the category; it is not flowing to Hundsun.

That relocates the ceiling. The binding constraint is not an exhausted TAM but Hundsun's share of a budget line that increasingly funds in-house engineering — the report's own structural threat, "large brokers progressively internalizing key components while vendors compete for the remaining stack."

Sizing the pie precisely is not possible, and the report refuses to fake it: "I found no current primary-source TAM estimate with sufficiently precise segment definitions to use in valuation." It explicitly rejects MIIT's RMB 15.48tn software-industry total as a proxy. Broker IT investment is in any case a gross budget covering in-house payroll, hardware and data centres, so it caps the external-vendor pool from above rather than measuring it. No international segment is disclosed, and whether foreign revenue exists cannot be verified from the information set.

Verdict: weak. A mature, domestic, countable pie currently expanding without Hundsun in it — in 2025 its RMB 5.78bn was passed by Hithink RoyalFlush's RMB 6.03bn among listed Chinese capital-market technology names.

  • Can its revenue at least double over the next five years? Is that growth driven mainly by volume, price, or new businesses?2/10

No. A five-year double requires 14.9% a year, and the report's own optimistic scenario implies about 7.9%.

The bar: RMB 5.783bn of 2025 revenue reaching RMB 11.566bn by 2030 requires 2^(1/5) − 1 = 14.87% compound growth for five consecutive years. Put another way, it requires revenue 59% above the all-time peak of RMB 7.28bn set in 2023 (11.566/7.28 = 1.59).

The report publishes no revenue forecast, so translate its owner-earnings scenarios at the 2025 owner-earnings margin of 887/5,783 = 15.34%:

    • conservative RMB 0.90bn of normalized core owner earnings implies about RMB 5.87bn of revenue — 0.3%/yr, no double on any relevant horizon
    • base RMB 1.10bn implies about RMB 7.17bn — (7.17/5.783)^(1/5) − 1 = 4.4%/yr, a double in about 16 years
    • optimistic RMB 1.30bn implies about RMB 8.47bn — 7.9%/yr, a double in about 9 years

Margin expansion would lower the revenue needed, and the base case does assume "core mix improves," so read these as a floor on required growth rather than as a forecast. Even so, the shortfall is not a rounding difference: the optimistic branch, which the report describes as "double-digit core recovery with strong operating leverage," still arrives at a double four years late.

The starting point is also still falling. H1 2026 revenue was about RMB 2.144bn, down 11.64%; carrying that rate through the year puts 2026 near RMB 5.1bn, a fourth consecutive decline, from which a 2031 double means RMB 10.2bn.

Volume, price or new business? The filings do not permit the split. There is no ARR, renewal rate, net retention, seat count or licence-versus-implementation breakdown — the report calls the omission "a serious analytical limitation." Any volume-versus-price attribution therefore cannot be verified from the information set.

What is observable points to none of the three at scale. The three core lines are 3.843/5.780 = 66.5% of revenue and all shrank in 2025: wealth technology RMB 1.320bn (−7.7%), asset-management technology RMB 1.257bn (−19.8%), operations and institutional technology RMB 1.266bn (−1.8%). Nothing doubles the group unless those three do. New business is thin: data services grew 29.45% in Q1 2026 on AI-driven data purchasing, but off a RMB 352m 2025 base that itself fell 0.5%, and no AI revenue line is disclosed anywhere. The one genuine positive is intake — double-digit H1 order growth and Q1 contract liabilities up 10.19% — which supports a trough case, not a doubling case.

Precedent does not help either. Revenue compounded from RMB 5.50bn in 2021 to RMB 7.28bn in 2023, but that peak rate was 18.3% then 12.0%, and it has been followed by −9.6%, −12.1% and −11.6%.

    Verdict: weak.

  • Five years out, what takes over as the next growth engine? Does that “second curve” exist today?3/10

The only line that has actually taken over is a 24.10% stake in someone else's business, not a Hundsun product.

Take the product candidates at disclosed size.

    • Data services: RMB 352m in 2025, 6.1% of revenue, −0.5% for the year, then +29.45% in Q1 2026 with the company citing AI-driven data purchasing.
    • Innovation businesses: RMB 490m, 8.5% of revenue, −4.9% in 2025.
    • AI as a product line: nothing to measure. The filings, the report says, "do not isolate AI product revenue, contracted value, seat pricing, deployment pricing, renewal rates, contribution margin or the split between pilots and production installations," so it assigns AI no standalone value. Its present scale cannot be verified from the information set.

The scale arithmetic is unforgiving. For data services to reach 30% of a RMB 7bn group by 2031 it must go from RMB 352m to RMB 2.1bn — 42.9%/yr for five straight years, against −0.5% delivered in 2025. Merely to offset a 20% decline in the three core lines (−RMB 769m) it must reach RMB 1.121bn, 26.1%/yr for five years. In any single year the asymmetry bites: 30% growth on RMB 352m adds RMB 106m, while a 10% move on the RMB 3.843bn core swings RMB 384m, 3.6 times larger.

Now the line that did grow. Equity-accounted associate income went from RMB 50.1m in 2024 to RMB 253.9m in 2025, +407%, with RMB 106.3m in Q1 2026 alone. Hundsun holds 24.10% of Ant Fund, which earned RMB 1.085bn on RMB 20.234bn of 2025 revenue, a 5.4% net margin (证券时报). 24.1% × 1.085bn = RMB 261m against RMB 254m reported, close enough that Ant Fund is almost certainly the dominant contributor. Grossing the quarter back up, 106.3/0.241 implies roughly RMB 441m of Ant Fund profit in Q1 2026 — about 41% of its entire 2025 result in one quarter. Q1 is seasonal and equity-method income carries consolidation adjustments, so treat it as a derived estimate, not a disclosure.

Real money, but not a second curve. It scales with Ant Fund's distribution economics rather than Hundsun's engineering, Hundsun does not control it, and the report's own model declines to treat it as one — crediting the investment pool as a RMB 7.0–7.5bn asset while valuing the software core separately on owner earnings.

What most plausibly takes over in five years is the first curve run better: domestic-technology substitution and regulation-forced replacement inside the installed base — not a new revenue pool, and it cuts both ways. The same policy, the report notes, "can create project work for Hundsun while simultaneously opening procurement doors for state-backed domestic vendors and in-house solutions."

Verdict: weak. On disclosed numbers there is no second engine, and the nearest candidate shrank in 2025.

  • What is its core competitive advantage? Will that moat widen or narrow over the next three to five years?6/10

Real, contract-anchored switching costs at the core — but two years of disclosure show the moat being defended, not widened.

The moat is switching cost plus domain and regulatory knowledge, not a licence: migrating a core transaction or operations architecture is "a multi-year technology and compliance project with operational-risk consequences."

Evidence it is genuine. Price held where the moat lives — 2025 gross margins were 78.4% in asset-management technology, 78.0% in operations/institutional and 73.2% in wealth. And the R&D barrier is large in absolute terms: RMB 2.18bn in 2025, 37.7% of revenue, entirely expensed, with 5,463 R&D staff. Apexsoft, the closest listed securities-technology challenger, had RMB 582m of total 2025 revenue and 588 R&D staff (新浪财经). Hundsun's R&D budget is 2.18/0.582 = 3.7 times Apexsoft's entire revenue; its R&D headcount is 5,463/588 = 9.3 times larger.

Evidence it is narrowing. The highest-margin core line fell fastest: asset-management technology −19.8% on a 78.4% margin, risk and platform −32.3%. Pruning explains the 40.6%-margin enterprise-finance and insurance-core decline of 21.8%; it does not explain the 78%-margin one. Customers boomed while the vendor shrank — the 150 securities companies grew 2025 revenue 19.95% and net profit 31.20% (中证协 via 证券时报) and lifted their own IT budgets, Guotai Haitong to RMB 3.235bn (+47.05%) and Huatai to RMB 2.679bn (+9.43%) (证券时报). Rising client IT spend alongside a 12.1% vendor revenue decline is the signature of internalization, the report's own named structural threat.

The cuts also touch the moat's raw material: cash paid to employees fell to RMB 3.80bn from RMB 4.62bn, −17.7%, and R&D expense fell 11.3%. The report puts it right — whether Hundsun "has removed excess cost or is eating into the workforce that maintains its switching-cost moat." And no 2025/26 disclosure establishes a current core-product share — the 46%/92% and 80%/93% figures are 2012-vintage and inconsistently defined — so whether share is holding cannot be verified from the information set.

One correction to the report. It reads Apexsoft's Q1 2026 revenue growth of 5.3% as an early erosion signal, but Apexsoft's full 2025 was revenue −12.38% and attributable profit −8.14% (新浪财经) — essentially Hundsun's own −12.1%. No listed challenger gained ground on a full-year basis.

Verdict: medium. Intact where failure is expensive, thinning at the edges, unproven for now absent current share data.

  • If its core business were disrupted, does it have the DNA to reinvent itself? How does it handle mistakes and bad news?4/10

One proven recovery and one honest retreat underway — against an accountability record on its worst mistake that is materially uglier than this report describes.

The reinvention evidence is real. The 2015 HOMS episode drew a CSRC confiscation of about RMB 109.9m plus a RMB 329.6m fine, some RMB 439.5m combined, and crushed 2016 attributable profit. Hundsun still rebuilt to RMB 7.28bn of revenue by 2023 because the installed base stayed.

The current retreat is a genuine, unpopular choice. Management is shrinking bank wealth-management systems, data-middle-platform work and bill-related enterprise finance — the 40.6% gross-margin segment, down 21.8% in 2025 — taking worse revenue for a better mix. Cash paid to employees fell to RMB 3.80bn from RMB 4.62bn, selling expense −21.7%, management expense −19.0%. And the RMB 2.18bn R&D bill, 37.7% of revenue, was entirely expensed, nothing capitalized: the easiest cosmetic lever in a contraction was refused.

Now the part the report omits. It says the penalty "devastated Hundsun Network's finances." Most of it was never paid. About RMB 22.65m of the roughly RMB 440m had been settled by March 2018, leaving some RMB 417m under court enforcement (澎湃新闻); the subsidiary was renamed from Hundsun Network (恒生网络) to Luofeng Network (骆峰网络) on 20 April 2020, a bankruptcy application followed five days later and was approved by 99.83% of shareholders at the annual general meeting on 15 May 2020, with roughly RMB 414m still outstanding (界面新闻). The Hangzhou Intermediate People’s Court accepted the filing in June 2020 and ruled the liquidation terminated on 18 December 2020, the estate fully distributed and the shell to be deregistered (财联社) — so the balance was in fact extinguished. Deconsolidating a shell carrying about RMB 425m of net liabilities then booked Hundsun a RMB 344m non-recurring disposal gain in 2020, against RMB 1.322bn of attributable profit that year (广西金融投资报). An unpaid regulatory penalty left the group as an accounting gain. That sequence is the most relevant evidence this question has, and it does not flatter.

Disclosure is candid on the headline, opaque on composition. Hundsun itself said 2026 H1 profit resilience "primarily came from greater investment income contributed by associates" rather than letting flat profit read as operating leverage, and published the ugly cash figure, about negative RMB 984m of H1 operating cash flow. But it withheld the Q2 associate-income line, so no operating-only bridge is possible before the 26 August interim report. Three of the report's four blind spots — no ARR or renewal data, no AI revenue line, no current product share — are choices, not timing.

Incentives point the wrong way. The 2026–28 share-option plan sets at least 10% annual growth in deducted attributable profit as the company hurdle, and equity-accounted associate income sits inside that recurring base — RMB 254m against RMB 1.013bn of 2025 deducted profit, about 25%. Ant Fund's results can help clear a bar meant to measure Hundsun's execution.

    Verdict: medium-weak.

  • Does management — the founders especially — hold a long-term view with interests deeply tied to the company? Are they willing to sacrifice current profit for the payoff five to ten years out?5/10

Alignment is real but narrow, and management's one dated, quantified commitment is measured on a number that associate income can satisfy without the software business growing at all.

Founders and control. The company began with eight founders in Hangzhou in February 1995, and Chairman Peng Zhenggang and other long-standing executives retain direct shareholdings, though the filings do not disclose their size. Above them are three layers that should not be collapsed: Hangzhou Hundsun Electronics Group is the controlling shareholder with 20.79% at end-2025 and again at Q1 2026; Ant Group owns 100% of that entity; and Hundsun Technologies itself has reported no actual controller since December 2023. No single owner's decade-long horizon backs the company, and Ant proximity is no revenue crutch: 2025 related-party software and services sales were RMB 48.1m, 0.83% of revenue.

The willingness-to-sacrifice test, answered by R&D. 2025 R&D was RMB 2.18bn, 37.7% of revenue, funding 5,463 staff at about 53% of employees, and none of it was capitalised. Working back from the disclosed 11.3% decline, 2024 R&D was 2.18/0.887 = RMB 2.458bn on RMB 6.58bn of revenue, or 37.3% (my calculation) - intensity rose in 2025 even as absolute spend fell, and R&D was cut far less than selling expense (-21.7%) or administration (-19.0%). Profit is being subordinated to the product, not manufactured on the balance sheet.

The hurdle, and what it does not require. The company-level condition is at least 10% annual growth in deducted attributable profit across 2026-28 - an incentive condition attached to equity grants, not earnings guidance. The grants are options: the 2025 tranche awarded 15.159m at CNY 37.98, so from CNY 22.12 the shares must rise 71.7% before it pays anything. The metric also includes equity-accounted associate earnings, which sit inside the deducted, recurring base. 2025 deducted profit of RMB 1.013bn was up 21.5%, implying a 2024 base of 1013/1.215 = RMB 834m and a 10% hurdle of RMB 917m; the year's rise in associate income, 253.9 - 50.1 = RMB 204m, exceeded the entire RMB 179m increase in deducted profit and was more than double the RMB 96m by which the hurdle was cleared (my calculations; equity-method income is pre-tax, so this is indicative, not a restatement).

Capital allocation. The 2025 dividend of RMB 0.20 per share on a base of 1,892,101,415 shares is about RMB 378m, some 31% of attributable profit and 5.8x smaller than R&D. The long horizon shows up as sustained spending, not as a dated promise to sacrifice profit; 2024-25 behaviour was the opposite, defending reported earnings while revenue fell 9.6% then 12.1%.

  • If it disappeared tomorrow, how badly would customers miss it? Is the way it grows sustainable, without relying on harm to society or regulators?6/10

They would miss the core badly and the periphery barely - and the company has already run the experiment on whether growth can rest on regulatory arbitrage, once, expensively.

The disappearance test has a historical answer. Hundsun Network's HOMS system was one of the technologies used in the off-exchange leveraged-account structures scrutinised in the 2015 turmoil. The CSRC penalty confiscated about RMB 109.9m of illegal income and added a roughly RMB 329.6m fine, some RMB 439.5m combined, and pushed 2016 attributable profit down dramatically. The institutional installed base survived it. Customers staying through a scandal at their own vendor is stronger evidence of dependence than any share statistic. Today's demand drivers look compliance-aligned rather than compliance-arbitraging: market-microstructure change, suitability rules, cybersecurity, data governance and domestic-technology substitution create work because getting them wrong is expensive. The honest limit is that the split between regulation-forced and discretionary spend is not disclosed.

Where the missing would concentrate. Migrating a core transaction, investment-accounting or operations architecture is a multi-year technology and compliance project. The 2025 segment gross margins mark the line: asset-management technology 78.4%, operations and institutional 78.0%, wealth 73.2% - against enterprise finance, insurance core and infrastructure at 40.6% and risk/platform at 58.0%. Management is itself shrinking parts of bank wealth-management, data-middle-platform and bill-related enterprise-finance work, telling you which products customers would not miss.

How much they miss it now is ambiguous. Revenue fell 9.6% in 2024, 12.1% in 2025 and about 11.6% in 2026 H1 to RMB 2.144bn, and the damage reached the core: asset-management technology fell 19.8%, risk/platform 32.3%. Against that, Q1 contract liabilities rose 10.19% and H1 orders reportedly grew double digits - but no absolute order or backlog figure is disclosed, so "double digit" cannot be sized. Share data is historical only: 46% and 92% in securities-trading and fund-management systems on a company-affiliated page, roughly 80% and 93% from 2012-annual-report reporting, with no current audited disclosure found. Dependence rests on switching cost, not on a verifiable present share.

The structural threat is not a scandal but large securities firms internalising modules while vendors compete for the remainder, eroding the profit pool without anyone beating Hundsun outright. Near-term evidence is mixed: Apexsoft's Q1 2026 revenue rose 5.3% to about RMB 150m with profit up 117.8% to RMB 46.4m while Hundsun's fell 11.8%; Kingdom Sci-Tech's Q1 revenue fell 11.3% to about RMB 462m with a roughly RMB 49m loss.

  • What are the unit economics of this business (gross margin, incremental returns)? Do they get better or worse at scale? Where does the money it earns go?6/10

The gross margin describes a software company and the operating margin a services company, because the whole product cost sits below the gross line as expensed R&D - and at the current scale the leverage runs in reverse.

Gross margin and the gap below. 2025 main-business gross margin was 71.1%; revenue-weighting the eight disclosed segments reproduces it as RMB 4.107bn of gross profit on RMB 5.779bn (my calculation, from RMB 1.257bn at 78.4% to RMB 0.540bn at 40.6%). Operating profit was RMB 1.308bn, 22.6% of RMB 5.783bn of revenue; remove investment income of RMB 526.2m and fair-value gains of RMB 26.4m and the operating-profit proxy is RMB 755m, 13.1% of revenue. Of that 58-point gap R&D alone is 37.7 points - RMB 2.18bn, entirely expensed with nothing capitalised, funding 5,463 R&D staff at about 53% of employees. The residual RMB 1.17bn (4.107 - 2.18 - 0.755) is selling, administrative, tax and impairment cost net of other income. A recurring-software multiple placed on the 71% headline is on the wrong margin.

Incremental returns run backwards. From 2024 to 2025 revenue fell RMB 0.80bn (6.58 to 5.78) while attributable profit rose RMB 0.19bn (1.04 to 1.23) - not return on new business but cost removal plus investment income. Cash paid to employees fell to RMB 3.80bn from RMB 4.62bn, down 17.7%, far faster than the 12.1% revenue decline.

Better or worse with scale? Better going up, worse coming down - and the blend is currently moving for mix reasons, not scale: enterprise finance, insurance core and infrastructure carried 40.6% against 73-78% in the core three, so pruning that RMB 540m segment (down 21.8%) lifts the blend while shrinking the top line. The genuine scale effect is the fixed R&D and platform base at 37.7% of revenue, amplifying growth and punishing contraction symmetrically.

Cash, and where it goes. 2025 operating cash flow was RMB 1.067bn, up 22.9%, against RMB 1.231bn of attributable profit - 0.87x, with cumulative 2021-25 conversion near 1.2x reported net income. Capex of RMB 239m leaves free cash flow of RMB 828m; at maintenance capex of RMB 180m, close to D&A of about RMB 183m (an assumption, not a disclosed KPI), owner cash earnings are roughly RMB 887m, a 15.3% margin. R&D dominates spending at 5.8 times the RMB 0.20 dividend - about RMB 378m on a base of 1,892,101,415 shares, 31% of attributable profit. The rest accumulates: at 31 March 2026 cash, trading financial assets, long-term equity investments and other non-current financial assets of RMB 0.94bn, 2.11bn, 2.71bn and 2.13bn sum to RMB 7.89bn (my addition) against RMB 0.41-0.43bn of borrowings. With no ARR or net-retention disclosure, durability is an inference from switching cost, not a measured fact.

  • For it to rise fivefold in ten years, what conditions must all hold at once? Are they realistic? What expectations does today's share price already imply?2/10

Not realistic as a central case. A fivefold return needs roughly 3.7 times the report's own optimistic intrinsic value, and today's price already pays for a recovery the segment data has not produced.

The arithmetic. CNY 22.12 x 5 = CNY 110.60 per share. At roughly 1.894bn shares that is 110.60 x 1.894 = RMB 209.5bn of equity value, against about RMB 41.9bn today. The required rate is 5^(1/10) - 1 = 17.5% per year for ten consecutive years. The report's optimistic scenario values the equity at RMB 56.8bn, CNY 30.0 per share, so CNY 110.60 / CNY 30.0 = 3.69x - a five-bagger needs 3.7 times the bull case, not a variation on it.

What earnings it requires. Using the report's sum-of-the-parts structure - core owner earnings x multiple plus a net investment credit - and holding the base-case RMB 7.5bn credit constant, the core must be worth 209.5 - 7.5 = RMB 202.0bn. Against 2025 owner cash earnings of RMB 887m:

    • 38x (report's optimistic core multiple): RMB 5.32bn of core owner earnings, 6.0x today's, 19.6%/yr
    • 34x (base): RMB 5.94bn, 6.7x, 21.0%/yr
    • 30x (conservative): RMB 6.73bn, 7.6x, 22.5%/yr
    • 24x (the report's own pre-mortem multiple): RMB 8.42bn, 9.5x, 25.2%/yr

What revenue it requires. At 2025's owner-earnings margin of 887/5,783 = 15.3%, RMB 5.94bn of owner earnings needs about RMB 38.7bn of revenue - 6.7 times the 2025 base of RMB 5.78bn, from a top line that fell 9.6%, 12.1% and about 11.6% in the three most recent periods. Even at a doubled 30% margin, revenue must reach RMB 19.8bn, 3.4x today, a 13.1% annual rate for a decade.

Conditions that must all hold. Contraction reverses into sustained double-digit growth; the high-margin core stops shrinking, asset-management technology having fallen 19.8% in 2025; owner earnings roughly double as a share of revenue without starving engineering; the 2036 exit multiple is still 34-38x after earnings grow six- or sevenfold, against the 20-25x mature-IT range named as the de-rating risk; no equity issuance, since every figure above holds 1.894bn shares; and associate income of RMB 254m neither reverses nor is re-rated down.

What the price implies today. Strip the base-case RMB 7.5bn investment credit from the RMB 41.9bn market value and the core is valued at RMB 34.4bn - 38.8x 2025's actual RMB 887m of owner earnings, or 31x the base case's normalised RMB 1.10bn. That normalisation is load-bearing, and the report's own sensitivity shows its fragility: cutting it to 70% while keeping 34x and the RMB 7.5bn credit gives 0.77 x 34 + 7.5 = RMB 33.7bn, or CNY 17.8 per share, roughly 20% below the current price. The report's three-year expected returns are -5.6%, +3.8% and +11.8% annualised; a five-bagger needs 17.5% for ten years.

  • Why hasn't the market grasped all this yet — does it not understand, not respect it, or not see far enough? What would become the “narrative inflection point”?3/10

The charge is not that the market missed a bargain but that it is reading the wrong income statement - and on the report's own numbers any error is on the optimistic side, hence Hold.

What is being misjudged. The simple story: revenue down 12%, profit stable, so cost efficiency must have improved dramatically. It did - selling expense fell 21.7%, administration 19.0%, employee cash pay to RMB 3.80bn from RMB 4.62bn. But equity-accounted associates supplied RMB 253.9m in 2025 against RMB 50.1m in 2024, and RMB 106.3m in Q1 2026 alone out of RMB 133.0m of Q1 investment income, plus RMB 51.7m of fair-value gains. Strip investment and fair-value gains from Q1 operating profit and the operating-profit proxy is about RMB 10m below zero - Q1 is seasonal and must not be annualised, but it shows where the profit came from. The opposite extreme fails on date and unit: the Wintime disposal was an October 2025 sale of 8.11m shares for about RMB 179m, RMB 123m being the expected pre-tax gain - 2025 H2, not 2026 H1.

Why the gap survives: disclosure, not stupidity. The H1 pre-announcement omits the Q2 associate-income line, so no outsider can build the operating-only bridge before the interim report; and screens read headline EPS, about 34x, not the roughly 47x owner-earnings multiple, a 38% gap. Something else hides in plain sight: Ant Fund, 24.10% owned, earned RMB 1.085bn of net profit on RMB 20.234bn of 2025 revenue, a 5.4% margin; a mechanical 24.10% share is about RMB 261m versus the RMB 253.9m booked. Hundsun is capturing the retail revival that lifted Hithink RoyalFlush's 2025 profit 75.8% to RMB 3.21bn - through the equity-method line, not software revenue: real, but a cyclical 5.4%-margin distribution business. So the market neither fails to understand nor looks down on this; it cannot yet see it - and may be closer to right than "misjudgment" implies: CNY 22.12 still sits above the CNY 18 conservative value, margin of safety none.

The inflection points. The 26 August 2026 interim report (scheduled, not guaranteed) carries the first Q2 associate-income line and operating-only bridge - read that line, not the headline: derived Q2 figures already show attributable profit down about 46% and deducted profit about 25% on revenue down 11.5%. Next, order conversion: Q1 contract liabilities rose 10.19% and orders grew double digits, and must become revenue; strong orders with falling revenue through 2027 would mean the backlog is the problem, not timing. Asset-management technology, at a 78.4% gross margin, is the line to watch. AI is not yet an inflection: data services grew 29.45% in Q1 on a segment generating RMB 352m in all of 2025, roughly RMB 20-25m of incremental quarterly revenue (my estimate).
