Why stay away, then? The problem is entirely valuation. Based on current profit, it would take about 106 years to earn back the cost of buying the whole company, while companies in the CSI 300 average only 14 years. Put another way, the annual return on this money is less than 1%, even lower than buying government bonds, at about 1.73%. After repeated valuation work, the report estimates the company’s true worth at roughly 25 to 35 yuan. The current 145 yuan price has already priced in several good years in advance, leaving almost no room for error.

The biggest thing to watch is whether the current strong conditions can last. If AI demand cools, profit could give back some of its gains. Its moat is moderate, not like Coca-Cola’s ability to raise prices freely. Raw materials account for a large share of costs, and the industry itself is cyclical. The report puts it plainly: this is a typical case of a good company at a bad price. It recommends putting the stock on a watch list and revisiting it when the market is less enthusiastic.

One point needs to be stated upfront: because web scraping of the SSE's real-time stock quote page is unstable, I cross-checked the "current price" using multiple public market-data sources. As of intraday trading on 2026-06-09, several market-data sources showed Shengyi Technology's share price roughly in the RMB 144.8 to 146.7 per share range. Throughout this report, I use RMB 145 per share for estimates.

My overall view on Shengyi Technology: the investment rating is Avoid. The core judgment is: the company itself is understandable, and it is a high-quality leader in China's copper-clad laminate supply chain; but it is not the type of business that can be bought without regard to price. Operations improved clearly in 2025, with AI servers, high-speed materials, automotive electronics, and related demand pushing the cycle upward. Yet the current share price implies static valuation, P/FCF, and P/Owner Earnings levels far beyond what a conservative long-term investor can accept. My conclusion is not "the company is poor"; it is that "the price has already, and excessively, pulled forward many ideal outcomes." At the current price, there is no margin of safety. It is more suitable for cyclical growth or industry-cycle traders, not conservative long-term value investors whose first principle is buying good businesses at low prices. The largest uncertainties are concentrated in the durability of AI-related high-end CCL demand; whether 2025-2026 high profits come more from an industry upswing than from a structural moat; and whether the current valuation has detached from long-term cash-flow return capacity.

In one sentence: Shengyi Technology is a high-quality materials company worth studying carefully, but buying it at around RMB 145 looks more like betting that a strong cycle will continue for many years and valuation will not normalize, rather than buying a cash-flow asset with a sufficient margin of safety. This judgment rests on three facts that are true at the same time. First, the company's core business has indeed improved materially, with revenue, profit, and operating cash flow all rising sharply in 2025. Second, industry demand is supported by AI servers, cloud computing, automotive electronics, and related drivers, so short- to medium-term conditions are not weak. Third, based on audited 2025 figures, the current market capitalization is about RMB 352.2 billion, implying a static PE of about 106x, PB of about 21x, and P/FCF of about 122x. For a cyclical, capital-intensive electronic base-materials company with a high raw-material cost share, that leaves almost no room for error.

Business, Industry, and Moat

How this company makes money. By industry segment, Shengyi Technology's 2025 revenue mainly came from four areas: copper-clad laminate and prepreg, printed circuit boards, a small amount of comprehensive use of waste resources, and a tiny real estate business. Among them, copper-clad laminate and prepreg revenue was RMB 17.774 billion, and printed circuit board revenue was RMB 9.144 billion. Together, these accounted for the vast majority of main business revenue. In sales model terms, the company is primarily direct-sales based. Direct-sales revenue was RMB 27.674 billion in 2025, while distributor sales were only RMB 193 million. Its products are widely used in PCB applications including communications equipment, servers, automotive electronics, consumer electronics, industrial control, and medical devices. In essence, it sells the "base materials" of the electronics industry plus part of PCB manufacturing capability. The business model is quite clear and not complicated.

From the customer and charging model, this is a typical B2B manufacturing business. The company does not earn money by selling to end consumers at a brand premium. It earns revenue within the supply chains of PCB manufacturers, electronics manufacturers, and end brands through material performance, stable delivery, customer certification, and scaled manufacturing capability, priced by specification, grade, order volume, and certification qualification. In 2025, sales to the top five customers accounted for 29.71% of annual sales, while purchases from the top five suppliers accounted for 27.45% of annual purchases. The company also disclosed that during the reporting period there was no case of "sales to a single customer exceeding 50%" or "serious reliance on a small number of customers or suppliers." In other words, there is some concentration, but it is not single-point dependence.

Revenue recurrence and predictability are "above average, but clearly cyclical." On one hand, copper-clad laminate, prepreg, and PCBs are continuously consumed and purchased materials in downstream electronics production. As long as customers' products remain in mass production, purchases repeat, so this is not a "one-time equipment sale" model. On the other hand, it is highly affected by the electronics cycle, inventory cycles, raw materials such as copper foil, resin, and glass fiber cloth, and changes in end-market mix. The clear decline in revenue and profit during 2021-2023, followed by recovery in 2024-2025, already shows that this is not a utility-like business that grows steadily every year. It is an industrial materials business with long-term demand, but short- to medium-term volatility.

The cost structure is critical. In 2025, direct materials accounted for 87.46% of costs in the copper-clad laminate and prepreg business. In the printed circuit board business, direct materials accounted for 73.37% of costs. This means that although the company has technology and scale advantages, margins are still significantly affected by copper, resin, glass fiber cloth, and product mix. It is not a light-asset software company where marginal costs are low and almost every price increase becomes profit. Its earnings elasticity is strong, but that elasticity can work upward or downward.

Business understandability score: 4/5. If the stock market were closed for five years, I would be willing to continue researching and, at the "right price," own this business, because I understand how it makes money, why customers need it, and where industry demand comes from. But if the cost basis is RMB 145 today, I would not ignore price risk just because the business is understandable. Understandable does not mean acceptable.

Industry and competitive landscape. Copper-clad laminate and high-end PCB substrates are base materials in the electronics supply chain, and long-term demand is not poor. In its 2023 annual report summary, Shengyi Technology disclosed that according to Prismark, the company's rigid copper-clad laminate sales had risen to second globally in 2022, with market share of about 12%. Its 2025 annual report also cited Prismark's forecast that the global electronics industry scale is expected to grow 8.0% year over year in 2026, global PCB output value to grow 12.5%, servers and data storage to be the strongest growth field, and AI server demand to continue releasing. This indicates that the industry is not in long-term decline. It is partly shifting from traditional consumer electronics drivers toward AI servers, data centers, automotive electronics, and high-end packaging.

But this is not a "naturally exceptional" industry. It is pushed by technology upgrades, and also challenged by technology upgrades: high-frequency and high-speed products, low loss, automotive 800V systems, FC-BGA/package substrates, high-layer HDI, and related trends all force materials companies to keep investing in R&D and capacity. R&D directions disclosed in Shengyi Technology's 2025 annual report include high-Tg automotive electronics substrates, medium-loss copper-clad laminate for AI power supplies, Low CTE/high-modulus package substrates for FC-BGA, HDI low-dielectric materials, and Anylayer advanced HDI materials. Some project descriptions were "completed laboratory research," "entered small-batch production stage," and "striving to land more orders." This shows the company is at the frontier, but it also shows that part of the moat is still being built rather than fully realized.

If choosing the "strongest competitor" for comparison, I would be more inclined to treat Kingboard Laminates as a global-level strong player. In fiscal 2025, it recorded revenue of HKD 20.400 billion, EBITDA of HKD 4.205 billion, profit before tax of HKD 3.112 billion, and basic net profit of HKD 2.494 billion, while also having stronger upstream-downstream vertical integration. By comparison, Shengyi Technology is well positioned in China's high-end materials chain, but it is not an irreplaceable monopolist. Among domestic listed comparables, Nanya New Material and Wazam New Materials are also continuing to catch up in high-end materials. My judgment is: Shengyi Technology is more like an excellent company in an above-average industry, rather than an invincible company in a perfect industry.

Industry attractiveness score: 3/5. Long-term demand exists, and the industry benefits from AI and automotive electronics upgrades. But cyclicality, capital expenditure, technology renewal, and raw-material volatility are all heavy. During an upswing, it is very good. Treating it as a permanently stable consumer-staples company would overstate it.

Moat judgment. I believe Shengyi Technology has a "medium-strength moat, primarily based on engineering capability and customer certification," rather than a brand-type or network-effect-type moat. Brand advantage means almost nothing to end consumers. There is almost no network effect. Data advantage is also not prominent. More important factors are: First, scale and process accumulation. The company has long ranked among global leaders in rigid copper-clad laminate, supporting a broader materials platform, larger trial-and-error budget, and more stable delivery. Second, customer certification and switching costs. In products such as high-frequency and high-speed materials, automotive electronics, high-layer HDI, and packaging materials, customer certification, process matching, and reliability verification all take time, so switching is not frictionless. The annual report disclosed that many R&D projects have already passed PCB and end-customer certification, or are moving toward order landing. Third, operational and R&D capability. R&D investment was RMB 1.450 billion in 2025, equal to 5.10% of revenue. R&D personnel totaled 2,031, or 13.98% of total headcount. In materials manufacturing, that is real investment.

But I do not think it has very strong broad pricing power. The reason is simple: direct materials are too high a share of costs, and there are comparable competitors in the industry. Pricing is more the result of "cycle plus product mix plus certification barriers" than Coca-Cola-like end-consumer brand pricing power. The company can partially raise prices in strong cycles and high-end materials, but in an inflationary environment it cannot guarantee "broad, sustained, painless" pass-through of all costs. The margin recovery in 2025 reflected structural upgrades, but was also clearly helped by an industry upswing and improvements in volume and selling prices. I define it this way: a moat exists, but it is far from wide enough to ignore the cycle.

Moat strength score: 3/5. Overall, the moat is stable and slightly widening, especially in high-end PCB substrates, automotive electronics, high-speed low-loss materials, and packaging-related materials. But it still requires sustained large R&D spending, manufacturing investment, and customer certification maintenance, and competitors are not unable to catch up. Replicating it is not something that can be done in a few months. It often requires years and several billion RMB of sustained investment. Still, that does not mean "impossible to replicate."

Management and Capital Allocation

From a governance-structure perspective, Shengyi Technology is a listed company with dispersed equity ownership, no controlling shareholder, and no actual controller. At the end of 2025, Guangdong Guangxin Holdings Group held 23.56%, Dongguan Guohong Investment Co., Ltd. held 13.29%, and Weihei Electronic Co., Ltd. held 12.25%. The company disclosed that all three exercise voting rights independently, with no acting-in-concert arrangement. Therefore, the company has no controlling shareholder or actual controller. For long-term shareholders, the advantage of this structure is the absence of an especially powerful single controller who can arbitrarily tunnel value out of the company. The disadvantage is that the board looks more like a multi-party balance, not a typical Berkshire-like structure with a founder holding a large stake and highly concentrated capital allocation.

On "honesty and compliance," I currently do not see obvious red flags. The 2025 and 2024 annual reports both received standard unqualified audit opinions from auditors. The annual reports explicitly state that there was no non-operating appropriation of funds by controlling shareholders or other related parties, and no external guarantees provided in violation of prescribed decision-making procedures. The 2025 annual report also disclosed that the company had not been penalized by securities regulators in the past three years. For conservative investors, these only prove that the "baseline is qualified"; they do not directly prove excellent capital allocation. But they at least rule out many of the most dangerous governance risks.

On capital allocation, my assessment is "rational but not outstanding." In recent years, the company has mainly used cash for three things: reinvestment/capacity expansion and R&D, dividends, and moderate debt management. Net operating cash flow was RMB 5.274 billion in 2025. Cash paid for the purchase and construction of fixed assets, intangible assets, and other long-term assets was RMB 2.376 billion, while cash paid for dividends, profit distributions, or interest was RMB 2.727 billion. This shows that in an upswing year, the company clearly put money back into capacity and shareholder returns, rather than leaving large amounts of cash idle. The issue is that this is not a light-capital, high-free-cash-flow model with exceptionally good buybacks.

The dividend record is generally good. The 2024 annual report disclosed that the company planned to distribute RMB 6.00 in cash for every 10 shares to all shareholders. The 2025 annual report disclosed a plan to distribute RMB 8.00 for every 10 shares. This shows that after profit improved, the company was willing to increase cash returns. By contrast, buybacks are not the core tool in the company's long-term capital allocation. The 2025 annual report and cash-flow notes show that the so-called "buybacks" were mainly related to repurchase and cancellation under equity incentives. Cash used for stock buybacks in 2025 was only RMB 2.4227 million, not a large-scale market buyback at undervalued prices. For long-term shareholders, this means the company is more like a "dividend-paying manufacturing leader," rather than a capital-allocation expert that makes major buybacks when undervalued and strongly increases per-share value.

On equity incentives, the 2024 restricted-stock incentive plan saw unlocking and small-scale repurchase cancellation in 2025. At year-end, there were still 34.6177 million shares of related restricted stock, equal to about 1.43% of share capital. This dilution ratio is not excessive, but it also shows the company is not a model that "basically never dilutes shareholders." More importantly, management's personal shareholdings do not create a strong "owner-operator" profile, so I would not give it a high score for "complete alignment with shareholder interests."

Management and capital allocation score: 3/5. My conclusion is: credible, compliant, and reasonably long-term oriented, but not an exceptional capital allocator. If the company can allocate high-return capital with more restraint during strong cycles and use genuinely meaningful buybacks when undervalued, this score could be revised upward.

Financial Quality and Owner Earnings

Start with the five-year trend. From 2021 to 2025, revenue increased from RMB 20.274 billion to RMB 28.431 billion, a four-year compound growth rate of about 8.8%. Net profit attributable to shareholders increased from RMB 2.830 billion to RMB 3.334 billion, a four-year compound growth rate of about 4.2%. This is not a smooth growth curve: earnings clearly fell in 2022-2023 and rebounded again in 2024-2025. In other words, long-term growth is fine, but the volatility along the way is substantial. It is a cyclical manufacturing business with a long-term upward slope, not a linear growth stock.

This table has several important implications. First, accounting profit and cash flow broadly match, and in most years cash flow was even stronger than profit. Second, cash-flow quality is not constant every year. It was weak in 2024 and strengthened significantly in 2025, indicating that working capital and industry cycles affect cash performance. Third, based on the confirmed 2023-2025 measures in this round, the company's free cash flow was positive in every year, but the level of free cash flow is strongly affected by the pace of capacity expansion. In other words, it can generate real cash, but it is not a company that needs little reinvestment and easily throws off large amounts of cash every year.

On margins, gross margin of the main business was 25.10% in 2025, up 4.52 percentage points from the prior year. Total profit was RMB 4.416 billion in 2025, and net profit attributable to shareholders was about RMB 3.334 billion, implying a net margin of roughly 11.7% to 13.7% depending on whether consolidated net profit or attributable net profit is used. Looking at the 2023 trough and 2025 high point together, I prefer to understand 2025's high margin as the combined result of "structural upgrade + industry cycle + operating leverage," rather than treating all of it as permanent structural advantage.

On leverage, at the end of 2025 the company had short-term borrowings of RMB 2.305 billion, non-current liabilities due within one year of RMB 438 million, long-term borrowings of RMB 903 million, and lease liabilities of about RMB 31 million. During the same period, monetary funds were RMB 1.744 billion, and trading financial assets were RMB 748 million. By roughly calculating "interest-bearing debt minus monetary funds," net debt was about RMB 1.933 billion. If trading financial assets are also treated as highly liquid assets, net debt was about RMB 1.185 billion. Combined with 2025 depreciation and amortization of about RMB 920 million, financial expenses of RMB 97 million, and interest expense of RMB 119 million, I estimate net debt/EBITDA at about 0.3 to 0.4x and interest coverage close to 38x. The balance sheet is solid.

Working capital requires continued monitoring. At the end of 2025, accounts receivable were RMB 9.526 billion, up significantly from RMB 7.305 billion a year earlier. Inventory was RMB 5.786 billion, also higher than RMB 5.119 billion in the prior year. But notes payable and accounts payable rose to RMB 2.801 billion and RMB 4.421 billion, respectively, partially offsetting the cash impact. Supplementary cash-flow data show that in 2025, "increase in inventories" and "increase in operating receivables" did consume cash, while "increase in operating payables" partially offset that. This is not a signal of financial fraud. It looks more like a typical upswing year: sales growth brings more receivables and inventory, while upstream credit purchases also increase.

I currently do not see obvious signs of financial fraud, aggressive accounting, or profit manipulation. On the contrary, several checkpoints are positive: standard unqualified audit opinion, no non-operating fund appropriation, no illegal guarantees, no regulatory penalties in the past three years, positive operating cash flow in most years, and 2025 operating cash flow significantly above net profit attributable to shareholders. The real risk is not "fake profit," but mistaking short-term high profit in a strong cycle for perpetual earning power.

Owner Earnings estimate. I use a conservative method. I do not annualize the "most optimistic 2026 Q1 report." Instead, I use the audited 2025 basis as the anchor: Net profit attributable to shareholders was about RMB 3.334 billion; Add back major non-cash expenses, at least including fixed-asset depreciation of RMB 887 million, right-of-use asset amortization of RMB 8 million, intangible-asset amortization of RMB 26 million, and part of impairment provisions; Then deduct maintenance capital expenditure. Here I do not directly use total 2025 capex of RMB 2.376 billion, because it clearly includes expansion. Combining 2023 and 2024 capex of about RMB 1.109 billion and RMB 926 million, respectively, and 2025 depreciation and amortization close to RMB 920 million, I use RMB 1.2 billion as a conservative maintenance capex assumption; Also considering that 2025 net working capital consumed several hundred million RMB of cash in practice, I conservatively deduct RMB 200 million.

Based on this, my conservative Owner Earnings estimate is around RMB 3.0 billion. At RMB 145 per share and 2.4291 billion shares, the company's market capitalization is about RMB 352.2 billion, equivalent to about 117x Owner Earnings, with an Owner Earnings Yield of only about 0.9%. This starting yield is not only far below what a conservative value investor would require from equities, it is even below the roughly 1.73% yield on China's 10-year government bond. From the perspective of "starting cash yield" alone, the current price is very hard to justify.

Valuation, Margin of Safety, and Opportunity Cost

Method 1: Owner Earnings DCF. I build the valuation into three scenarios, all kept as conservative as possible, without assuming "a permanently strong cycle."

These figures are shareholder-equity DCF results anchored to audited 2025 earning power, not sell-side style linear extrapolations from the best year. If I further loosen the assumptions, for example raising initial Owner Earnings to RMB 3.4-3.6 billion, lifting ten-year growth to 12%, and lowering the discount rate to 8.5%, the bull value can be pushed to around RMB 60. But even then, it remains well below the current market price of about RMB 145. In other words, it is not only my conservative model that produces "no margin of safety"; even a relatively optimistic model cannot support the current price. The above valuation is a calculation based on audited data, not a target price issued by the company or a third party.

Method 2: Relative valuation. Below is a rough comparison between Shengyi Technology and two domestic A-share comparable companies. Because intraday prices fluctuated significantly on 2026-06-09, I only make an "order-of-magnitude judgment" and do not treat decimal-point differences as important.

Relative valuation does not tell me that "Shengyi Technology is cheap." It tells me that the entire track is priced very aggressively in the A-share market. Compared with the CSI 300 index valuation of about 14x, Shengyi Technology's current static PE of about 106x is extremely expensive. Even compared with high-beta peers, it does not trade at a clear discount. From another angle, the CSI 300's earnings yield is about 7.0%, while Shengyi Technology's earnings yield based on audited 2025 profit is below 1%. For a balanced but conservative long-term investor, this starting point for relative return is highly unattractive.

Method 3: Asset/liquidation value. This company is not a typical "net-cash shell" or "hidden-asset" stock. At the end of 2025, net assets attributable to shareholders were RMB 16.724 billion, and net assets per share were about RMB 6.88. It also had investment properties of RMB 140 million, long-term equity investments of RMB 812 million, and trading financial assets of RMB 748 million. But even after including all of these, book asset value remains far away from RMB 145 per share. Because manufacturing assets are specialized, under a liquidation mindset many pieces of equipment and construction-in-progress assets would be difficult to realize at full book value. Therefore, the asset method only reminds you that the downside floor is low; it does not support the current price as a value anchor. If a stock only looks inexpensive by assuming many years of sustained high growth, while asset value provides almost no protection at the current price, it does not meet a conservative value-investing standard for margin of safety.

Based on the three methods above, my price ranges are: Bear intrinsic value range: RMB 15-20/share; Base intrinsic value range: RMB 25-35/share; Bull intrinsic value range: RMB 50-70/share.

At the current RMB 145, the share price is roughly 6-9x above the bear range, 3-5x above the base range, and still about 1.1-1.9x above the bull range. Therefore, my conclusion is very clear: Ideal buy price range: RMB 18-24/share; Acceptable holding price range: RMB 25-40/share; Above RMB 50-70/share, I would already consider the valuation significantly high; around RMB 145 is "clearly overvalued," not merely "a bit expensive."

Margin of safety conclusion: insufficient, and clearly insufficient. Having no controlling shareholder or actual controller is not bad in itself, but it also means the company is not a strong owner-operator structure led by a founder with a high ownership stake.

The strongest counterargument is actually easy to write: This company may truly be China's high-end copper-clad laminate leader, and AI-related demand may indeed continue growing. But shareholder returns do not depend on whether the story is true; they depend on how much you paid for that story. If you buy at RMB 145 today, you are accepting an Owner Earnings Yield below 1%, while bearing the technology, cycle, raw-material, and valuation-normalization risks of a cyclical manufacturer. If actual performance over the next ten years is merely "good" rather than "extraordinary," investment returns are very likely to underperform the index and may even underperform government bonds. I think this counterargument is very strong, and it is likely correct.

If the following facts emerge, I would acknowledge that my original judgment needs revision, even admit I was wrong: If over the next two to three years the company can significantly increase the revenue share of high-end materials, packaging-related materials, and automotive electronics materials, while raising Owner Earnings to the RMB 6.0-8.0 billion level without materially increasing leverage, then my current judgment of its "reasonable value" may be too low. Conversely, if even under decent industry conditions, gross margin falls, receivables and inventory continue to swell, free cash flow fails to keep up with profit, or high-end projects remain unable to convert into substantive revenue and orders, that would prove 2025 was more like a cyclical profit pulse than a significant widening of the moat.

According to Prismark's April 2026 view, global PCB output value was about 85.2 billion dollars in 2025, up 15.8% year over year, and is expected to rise another 12.5% in 2026 to about 95.8 billion dollars. The corresponding upstream CCL market is also a large market worth tens of billions of dollars. The report cites a Prismark forecast that the global electronics industry could grow by +8.0% year over year in 2026, with PCB output value up +12.5%, and servers and data storage as the strongest growth poles. The AI-specific CCL segment, according to Global Info Research, was about 7.7 billion dollars in 2025 and is expected to reach about 11.5 billion dollars by 2032 (2026–2032 CAGR of about 6.6%). AI server PCB itself has been estimated by several brokerages to grow at a CAGR of about 32.5%, far above the industry average. This is "expanding the fastest-growing corner of an existing pie," not creating a brand-new category.

    From Baillie Gifford's perspective of "why has the market not recognized the opportunity," there is no hidden TAM being underappreciated here. AI-driven PCB/CCL demand is already one of the most crowded consensus narratives in the 2025–2026 market. Shengyi's current trailing PE of about 91 times (stockanalysis data, 2026-06-10) shows that this ceiling has not only been seen, but has been fully, and even excessively, priced in.

    Bottom line: the ceiling is high (tens of billions of dollars, with a second AI-driven expansion), and the direction is "winning higher-end share within an existing large pie." This fits Baillie Gifford's preferred category of "expanding an existing pie." But it is a pie everyone is already watching. The scarcity is not in the size of the track, but in whether Shengyi can keep capturing the high-end corner.

    Anchor the starting point first. In 2025, Shengyi Technology's revenue was 28.431 billion yuan, up +39.45% year over year, and net profit attributable to the parent was 3.334 billion yuan, up +91.75%. The acceleration continued into 2026: Q1 2026 revenue was 8.141 billion yuan, up +45.09% year over year, and net profit attributable to the parent was 1.158 billion yuan, up +105.47%. Simply annualizing Q1's 8.141 billion yuan already gives more than 32 billion yuan, so "doubling in five years to ~57 billion yuan" is not excessive under current industry conditions. The challenge is not whether the company can push volume in the short term, but whether this growth rate can hold for five years.

    Growth breaks down into three forces, not one:

    First, volume. This is the main force. The report says 2025 growth reflected "year-over-year growth in copper-clad laminate sales volume" plus capacity release. The company is also investing about 5.2 billion yuan in a high-performance copper-clad laminate project at Dongguan Songshan Lake, explicitly aimed at AI compute, advanced packaging, and new energy vehicles. Capacity ramp-up is the base of the revenue outlook over the next five years.

    Second, price/mix. This is the source of profit elasticity, but it is a secondary contributor to revenue. The report's bear case is exactly here: the high growth in 2025–2026 "benefited to a large extent from industry conditions and a higher share of high-value-added products." If AI demand peaks cyclically or inventory destocking begins, both volume and price can fall, breaking the doubling path.

    Bottom line: a revenue doubling in five years is achievable, but it would not be steady linear growth. It would be a cyclical surge driven by "volume first + mix upgrade + Shengyi Electronics high-end ramp-up," with heavy dependence on continued AI demand.     Second, competitors are not standing still, and stronger players are already vertically integrated. The strongest competitor named in the report, Kingboard Laminates (01888.HK), recorded 2025 revenue of 20.400 billion Hong Kong dollars and net profit of 2.442 billion Hong Kong dollars, up +83.6% year over year, and has already achieved complete vertical integration with in-house glass fiber yarn/glass fiber cloth/copper foil production (its new Lianzhou copper foil capacity of 1500 tons/month was fully utilized in the first half of 2025).
