KYEC instead made itself a "testing specialist," concentrating unit investment, engineering experience, and customer validation into a narrower process. That choice was not always the most glamorous during the smartphone era, because the market preferred to assign higher valuations to advanced packaging. In 2023, 2024, and 2025, operating cash flow was NT$14.260 billion, NT$18.475 billion, and NT$13.152 billion respectively, which is still good over the long term. But investing cash flow also showed outflows of NT$7.273 billion, NT$14.355 billion, and NT$13.078 billion, while total debt rose from NT$23.868 billion and NT$21.656 billion to NT$33.138 billion. Once utilization rises, gross margin can lift quickly. The moat described in market promotion needs more restraint. In particular, the phrase "near-monopoly share in Nvidia AI testing" should be broken apart. KYEC is indeed a key partner in Nvidia's testing chain, and related orders have been described by multiple media outlets as filling capacity and extending visibility. But whether the specific share has truly exceeded 90% has not been settled by public first-hand disclosure. In other words, the customer relationship is real and the scarcity is probably real, but the near-monopoly figure needs stricter company disclosure before it can be confirmed.

The only complication is that Q1 2025 EPS was lifted by the gain from the China disposal, so comparisons between reported profit and operating quality need caution.

The third is that the market is treating KYEC as a scarce AI infrastructure asset rather than an ordinary cyclical stock. The problem is exactly here: market expectations are already quite high. MarketScreener's analyst consensus shows estimated 2026 revenue of about NT$49.514 billion and 2027 revenue of NT$70.905 billion, with EBITDA of about NT$26.937 billion and NT$38.166 billion respectively. That slope implies "two consecutive years of high growth with continued margin expansion," not a mere recovery in the testing cycle.

The bullish evidence is solid. Revenue and gross margin have climbed continuously, indicating that incremental demand is not just being won through low prices. The Singapore plant has landed, not just appeared in PPT slides. The company is indeed directing capex toward CP, FT, BI, and SLT, rather than buying equipment generically. The bearish evidence is just as solid. First, 2026 capex of NT$50 billion is far higher than 2025 revenue, implying extremely high capital intensity. Second, the market's imagination around Nvidia dependence is too heavy, while the company has never directly disclosed customer shares. Third, if utilization comes in even slightly below expectations, depreciation will eat into margins first.

Current valuation is high. Based on the latest public market pages, KYEC trades at about 37x P/E, 6.1x P/B, and 19x EV/EBITDA. Reuters also shows special-items-excluded P/E around 38x, meaning that if abnormal profit is stripped out, the stock is not truly cheap just because the 2025 financial statements look strong.     But the other side of incremental returns is much colder. 2026 capital expenditure of NT$50 billion is far above 2025 revenue of NT$34.934 billion, indicating extremely high capital intensity. The report looks through cash flow: using a rough maintenance capex estimate of NT$8–10 billion per year, after deducting it from 2025 operating cash flow of NT$13.15 billion, owner earnings are left at only about NT$3.1–5.2 billion, corresponding to an owner earnings yield of only about 0.9%–1.5% at the current market value.

    Where the money goes is obvious: operating cash flow is almost offset by investing cash flow, free cash flow is eaten by expansion, and debt rose from NT$23.868 billion to NT$33.138 billion.     The current price has already bought a lot of the future. The report estimates that the current price corresponds to about 37 times P/E and 6.1 times P/B, clearly above most Taiwanese testing peers. Even special-items-excluded P/E is still around 38 times, showing that an attractive 2025 income statement does not mean cheapness. 2025 EPS of NT$9.01 includes a one-off gain from the disposal of King Long Suzhou (completed 2025-02-13), so it is more expensive on sustainable earnings. Even the optimistic anchor of NT$360 implies only about +28% upside, far from a fivefold magnitude.

    The report's conclusion on margin of safety is cold: the current NT$282 price has no discount to the conservative anchor of NT$230, so the margin of safety is zero. If earnings do not grow over the next three years and valuation no longer expands, investors mainly receive only limited dividends and time value. Report rating: Hold.     So the so-called "narrative inflection point" is two-way: upward, second-quarter revenue approaching above NT$11 billion, smooth Singapore customer certification, and gross margin not being diluted by depreciation; downward, monthly revenue growth falling below 15% year on year, gross margin falling back below 36%, or management commentary turning conservative on customers and utilization at the earnings call. Report rating: Hold. The market sees it clearly; the disagreement is only over the speed and cost of delivery.
